Sometimes a leap of faith can save a life.

An 8-year-old boy who slipped off a ski lift chair was saved by a few quick-thinking teens. The boy had boarded the Screaming Eagle chairlift on Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Canada. But he failed to get properly situated, leaving him dangling off the side as the chair continued to rise up the lift. A witness said the loud music made it so his father's cries for help couldn't be heard.

Luckily, a group of 13- and 14-year old boys who were skiing below saw the dangling kid and jumped into action. They constructed a "makeshift rescue trampoline" out of netting, which they spread out underneath the lift. They then instructed the kid to take off his skis and drop the (approximately) 6 meters to safety. It worked.

The boy didn't sustain any injuries, according to Julie Grant, a spokesperson for the resort, but he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The president of Grouse Mountain, Michael Cameron, met with the heroes to thank them and offer them season passes to the resort.

Harry is a fellow on the Culture Team. He loves memes and Taylor Swift (no, like, actually.) He'd like to thank his parents for always believing in him. This will be his first broadway production. Oh, wait, he thought this was a Playbill bio...
