Netflix's Exploding Kittens trailer is finally here — and it promises to be a wild ride.

The adult animated series sees Tom Ellis (of Lucifer fame) providing the voice for God, who is fired from his role in Heaven and sent to rehabilitation back down on Earth. Only thing is: he's adopted the form of a chunky house cat.

On Earth, God has to deal with a dysfunctional family with two unruly teenagers, and — more pressingly — the neighbor's cat, who happens to be the Antichrist. What ensues is a fight between good and evil, between Godcat (Ellis) and Devilcat (Sasheer Zamata).

This supremely chaotic but enticing premise stems from the card game Exploding Kittens, famously crowdfunded via Kickstarter by creators Elan Lee and Matthew Inman. The game holds the record for most-backed Kickstarter project in history, having received over $8.7 million in funding and selling over 18 million copies. The wildly popular game launched a franchise of several iterations — including a mobile game offshoot.

Creators Lee and Inman serve as the executive producers of the show, wth Inman also acting as showrunner alongside Shane Kosakowski. The cast also includes Suzy Nakamura, Mark Proksch, Ally Maki, and Kenny Yates.

The original game is described as "a kitty powered version of Russian Roulette", and Netflix's version promises to offer a similarly addictive experience, complete with fireballs, laser pointers, and the ultimate battle.

Exploding Kittens is streaming on Netflix in July.
