TL;DR: A two-year subscription to ProtonVPN is on sale for $3.67 per month as of June 3, saving you 33% on list price.

There are absolutely tons of VPN providers out there, and they all try to secure your subscription with cheap deals. It's still rare to see genuinely free services though, and if you can find one, it's probably lacking in features.

ProtonVPN is one of the few providers to offer a free service, but stands out from this group because you get a lot of features for nothing. There are no data or speed limits, no advertisements, and no activity logging, and you get advanced encryption under strict Swiss privacy protection.

Most VPN services run the risk of being compromised if their servers are under surveillance. ProtonVPN avoids this situation by first passing your traffic through its Secure Core network in privacy-friendly countries. This means that the VPN endpoint server will not reveal your true IP address, even if it's compromised.

You could also upgrade to a paid plan to gain access to servers in 50 countries, 10 simultaneous connections, and advanced features. The Basic plan is on sale for $3.67 per month as of June 3, if you commit to a two-year subscription. This deal saves you 33% on list price.
