Oreo introduces new Firework flavor, and a $500,000 prize contest

Oreo is not done with their wild 2017 cookie innovations.

For their latest go at an exciting new flavor, the snack masterminds created a limited edition Firework Oreo, or as Cosmopolitan calls it, "an Oreo with Pop Rocks in the creme."

At the center of the cookie, red and blue "popping candies" (a la Pop Rocks) are mixed in with the creme, creating a "firework" sensation in your mouth.

Fireworks Oreos hit stores May 8 for a limited time - and we have a feeling with their red, white, and blue packaging - they'll be a big hit for the fourth of July.

But wait - there's more. Today through July 14, you can submit your own ideas for an Oreo flavor on Instagram or Twitter using #MyOreoCreation. "Why would I ever want to do that," you may ask yourself. Answer: for the company's massive $500,000 prize.

In addition to the prize money and seeing your creation actually hit the shelves, the winner will receive a trip to New York City for "unprecedented VIP access" to see "never-before-released Oreo creations," and top-secret prototypes, in the "Wonder Vault," according to Today.

Even the contest's runners-up will get $25,000, with the winner will be decided based on "fan voting."

The ideas are already rolling in:

Let's see what they come up with next.
