UPDATE: Dec. 20, 2023, 2:50 p.m. EDT Best Buy's app-exclusive AirPods Pro (USB-C) Drop has sold out. If you're still looking for a deal on Apple's latest noise-canceling earbuds ahead of the holidays, Amazon, Target, Walmart, and the Best Buy website had them on sale for $199.99 (or $49.01 off) at the time of writing. Our original story follows.

Best Buy has an eleventh-hour entry for the best Apple AirPods Pro deal of the 2023 holiday season.

Starting Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. ET, the new second-generation AirPods Pro that come with a USB-C charging case are on sale for just $189.99 via the Best Buy mobile app. That's almost $60 off their $249 MSRP and a match of their all-time low price around Black Friday. (For comparison's sake, they were $199.99 at Amazon, Target, and Walmart at the time of writing.) The doorbuster comes as part of the tech retailer's "Drops" program, and it will be up for grabs until 6 p.m. ET tonight unless it sells out first.

For the uninitiated: Best Buy Drops is meant to give shoppers a (brief) chance to snag extra-deep discounts and popular product restocks during the holidays. Prices are exclusive to the Best Buy mobile app (free for iOS and Android), so don't bother looking for the same offers on the Best Buy website or in stores.

"If a Drop is currently live while you're on the app, a status bar showing the percentage of inventory that has been claimed can give an idea of how fast you need to act," explains Mashable Senior Shopping Reporter Leah Stodart. "Once inventory for a certain Drop is gone, it's gone."

It's worth noting that the Best Buy app only gave shoppers a day's notice on today's AirPods Pro Drop; featured products are typically added to its "Upcoming Drops" tab about a week before they go live. Still, it's highly likely that they'll sell out quickly even without a big heads-up — this is an all-time low price on a current-gen Apple product, after all.

These AirPods Pro were unveiled back in September at Apple's iPhone 15 event, and they're largely the same as their 2022 predecessors aside from a new USB-C charging port, better dust resistance, and lossless audio support with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro headset. Senior Editor Stan Schroeder rated them a 4.1/5 and recommended them to anyone "looking for a pair of earbuds with good sound and great noise cancellation, alongside some unique smart features."
