MarTechBot FAQ
Access to MarTechBot is 100% free. All users get a pre-determined number of “tokens” each month. We may increase or reduce those limits at any time and charge for access in the future.
Great question! MarTechBot is built on top of ChatGPT, and we’ve added more than 20,000 items (via Pinecone if you are curious) from MarTech.org, which can slow our bot down a little. We expect the speed to improve over time.
Every generative AI platform is slightly different, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. MarTechBot’s strength is that it’s the only chatbot trained on more than 20,000 MarTech.org articles. We recommend you give it a try, along with all the other generative AI platforms and pick what works best for you!
MarTechBot is aimed at marketers who want to get hands-on experience and knowledge of how generative AI tools can work across various use cases. MarTechBot includes several “pre-tuned” personas with additional context so you can just start chatting without any prompting.
But the real value of MarTechBot is what you get by using it to generate everything from plans to improve your marketing operations strategies, marketing campaign copy, product concepts, email marketing tactics and more. The list is endless, and the only limitation is your imagination!
Prompts that yield desired results follow this simple structure:
1. Always tell MarTechBot how to act. For example, “Act as a senior-level marketing manager.”
2. Add details to the prompt. For example, “You are an award-winning marketer focused on B2B and SaaS software lead generation and marketing automation.”
3. Be very specific in your request. You can always reframe or adjust the answer and output via subsequent prompts or questions. For example, “Create a template for implementing and onboarding the content team to any new software or process.”
4. Before submitting a prompt, ask if there is anything missing. For example, “What else can I tell you?” or “What is missing?”
5. Tell MarTechBot when and where to adjust as you go. For example, “Can you make your response more formal?”
6. If you want specific output, be sure to include that. For example, “Output your response as a table.” Additional formats can include “markdown”, HTML, JSON, etc.
So, in our example, the full prompt would be as follows:
“Act as a senior-level marketing manager. You are an award-winning marketer focused on B2B and SaaS software lead generation and marketing automation. Create a template for implementing and onboarding the content team to any new software or process. Format your output in markdown. Is there anything else you want to know before getting started?”

We recommend that you never upload or share proprietary information with any chatbot. MarTechBot is no exception. What you create cannot be copyrighted. We always recommend that you add a human element to anything generated by an AI to ensure accuracy and that it is edited properly.
MarTechBot’s image generation is powered by DALL-E 3.
We plan to, yes! When we do, we’ll post about it on MarTech.org and social media. If you have suggestions, please leave them here.
Please submit any errors you see here. It’s very possible your error is because your chat was simply too long, and you ran out of tokens.
However, if MarTechBot is generating incorrect results or making up answers, please bear with us. Generative LLMs are known for sometimes making mistakes.
Lastly, try to rephrase your prompt. Sometimes, a single word can make a difference in the results you get from a generative AI like MarTechBot.
Yes. All prompts and conversations are logged. We review them periodically for our “Best of Bots” feature on MarTech.org.
We’ve also turned moderation on, which protects you and us from generating content that violates OpenAI’s policies. We have also enabled content moderation, which will automatically let you know if you’ve gone astray or into inappropriate areas of content generation.
