Dear Friend,

This month we celebrate Military Appreciation Month. It is an opportunity to acknowledge and honor the veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, guardsmen and women, and military spouses who serve our country with such courage and strength. To the men and women who sacrifice their time, energy, and lives to protect all of us and our freedom: a thank you does not seem sufficient enough.

Many veterans receive their discharge paperwork and leave their base without a job or college lined up. They rarely have a mentor or any professional network to help them land a job. And that is why NPower has been mission-focused on serving those who served our country. We want to ensure that, during their transition to civilian life or after military service, they have the opportunity to upskill, grow their network and launch successful careers in tech.

The NPower program has made a real difference in people’s lives. Over the past seven years, we have trained over 1,600 veterans, active service members, and military spouses. On average graduates land employment earning annual starting salaries over $50,000 and they are more likely to return to NPower to earn specialized certifications in cybersecurity or cloud computing.

With the utmost respect, we salute the sacrifices veterans and their families make every day on our country's behalf. We are here to support you and we are forever grateful.

Sincerely,
Bertina Ceccarelli

Meet NPower Alum and U.S. Navy Veteran

Tingbin Huang

Tingbin Huang struggled to secure employment, despite having a college degree and years of experience as a logistics specialist in the U.S. Navy. After hearing about NPower, he jumped at the opportunity to expand his tech skills and applied to the program. Upon successfully completing his CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certifications, Tingbin landed an internship at Local SEO Guide where he worked on a number of national software development projects. Citing Tingbin’s work ethic, innovative solutions, and professionalism, which he credits to his military service and NPower, the company offered him a full-time role as a Software Engineer.

“I decided to join NPower to learn tech fundamental skills and meet fellow tech professionals. My background in customer service as a logistics specialist in the military helped me pick up the material quickly and what I learned from NPower will help me go even further in the tech field.”
