Today is Juneteenth, a worldwide celebration dating back to 1865. It commemorates the end of slavery and is a day of reflection, renewal, pride and jubilation. This year, for the first time, we have offered our devoted staff this day off to do just that. We all know there is much work ahead to be done to dismantle systemic racism, bias and discrimination. With the support of our local communities, NPower is working to do our part.

The Future of Work is in Tech

NPower conducted a survey of 75 national and regional board members, representing major fortune 500 companies. We wanted their insights about the urgency for hiring tech talent in the short and long term. Their outlook is optimistic. Close to 100% see IT generalist, remote IT, cybersecurity and cloud support roles as critical to their teams over the next 6–18 months.

Virtual Micro Projects

While the economic recession limits the near term internship and job placement opportunities for many students, we have partnered with CoLabL to provide innovative and simulated “real-world” projects enabling our students to apply their new skills in similar ways. We are seeking volunteers to serve as project judges or team coaches over a three week period. The deadline to sign up for the first session is June 24th. We have a limited amount of slots available.
