Last week, over 300 NPower graduates, supporters, staff, family and friends across the country gathered virtually to celebrate the “Go-Getters”, the class that saw a light at the end of a long-winding tunnel. Starting NPower’s program almost one year into a global crisis, they saw a chance to invest in their future, and went for it.

Even while facing their own personal challenges brought on by the pandemic, these students tackled rigorous coursework, exams, certifications and professional development activities, volunteered for additional assignments, championed each other’s wins and truly embodied ambition by turning obstacles into stepping stones. 

The ceremony featured a dynamic speaker lineup, including inspiring and heartfelt speeches from Citigroup’s Chief Compliance Officer, Mary McNiff, NPower graduates Joshua Murphy (Maryland) and Teniola Akande (New Jersey) and a presentation honoring the NPower Go Getter awardees. The celebration continued with NPower’s first ever After Party featuring DJ Ridd who made the evening unforgettable!

Our Instructors are committed to the success of our students and removing any barriers to gaining the skills needed for a successful career in technology. 

Courtney not only found her passion, but she also gained extensive technical knowledge in a comfortable and inviting learning environment and exposure to opportunities that she had never experienced. Now, as a Technical Instructor in NPower Missouri, she provides that same supportive experience for others that join the program and is transforming the lives of young adults in St. Louis. 

Expanding Our Reach to Los Angeles

With the support of Microsoft under their Accelerate program, NPower is piloting a new training program, IT Support Specialist, to young adults and veterans in the Los Angeles, California area only. This virtual class launches September 20, 2021 with the goal of serving 100 students over the next year. Students will have the opportunity to earn Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure certifications.
