Booked the oyster and clam digging tour for a couple friends and I. We've never tried anything like this before and were excited to try it.
Before the actual tour day, Angela sent out text messages reminding us of the important details. It kept us very prepared.
The actual tour itself started with an introduction, a raw oyster tasting, then we were given supplies, and we set out to hunt for shellfish.
The entire time, we felt very well taken care of. Our guide, Ben, was super knowledgeable about shellfish and you could tell he was super passionate and loved the job. I mainly focused on digging for clams, so the guides came around to give me some oysters as well.
We then took some time to clean our catch, shuck the oysters, and then went home.
Overall, a super fun experience. I'd definitely recommend it if you've never dug for oysters/clams before and want a little taste of the experience. It is a bit pricey but with the guides' expertise and provided supplies, I think it was a reasonable price to pay.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nancy T.Seattle, WA709967May 12, 2024
Angela/Savor The Wild Tours mushroom foraging 101 tour was great!! Angela is super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about mushrooms.
We took a short little walk/hike into the Redmond Watershed, which I didn't realize existed not very far from the city, and Angela took us around to hunt for mushrooms.
We tried some raw samples and were able to identify different types of mushrooms. I even got some oyster mushrooms.
Such a Fun experience and now I feel a tad bit more comfortable identifying mushrooms locally!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer Y.Kirkland, WA169196Apr 20, 2024
Went mushroom foraging today with Angela - fantastic trip! Funny, friendly and knowledgeable we got to wander the woods of Redmond and find Oyster mushrooms, Turkey tails and even a Reishi!
Unfortunately she didn't get to cook for us at the end because the weather turned wild, but I'm sure it would have been delicious! She did give us great instructions on how to properly cook mushrooms so I'm definitely following her steps from now on.
Run, don't walk to sign up for one of Angela's tours!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon T.Portland, OR115201337May 25, 2024

I did the chef-led intro to gourmet mushroom foraging intro class. Angela was amazing and so knowledgeable! We got a few different dishes to try and it was so much fun. We walked into a forest and foraged our own mushrooms and it was such a cool, unique experience. I would definitely recommend this class!

I almost don't want to give too much detail away! This was an incredibly fun experience full start to end. Clearly so much thought and care has gone into planning the experience. Angela was our host, incredibly friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Met at a location that was easy to drive to, easy to park at. Incredibly well thought out event, I came as a group of three and the total group was 12, mix of couples, families, friends (probably best without kids though IMO). The only caveat is that there were no bathrooms and the event is ~3hrs but the woods are right there

We recently joined Savor the Wild Tours for a fall chanterelle hunt, and we were blown away! The tour guides were fantastic--extremely knowledgeable and passionate about foraging. Their insights made the experience educational and fun. The hot lunch provided was a wonderful touch, especially after a morning of exploring. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will definitely join them again. This was a fantastic experience!
