Fluids Engineer
I am looking for a Fluids Engineer to join and Propulsion Systems team that is dedicated to developing main engines, auxiliary propulsion, on-board fluid systems, and fluid systems for ground and test facilities. They are responsible for:
- Designing fluid systems based on functional needs, system architecture, and fluid selection for all company systems (launcher, ground, and test facilities).
- Selecting components to fulfill specified functions.
- Modeling system behavior to validate designs.
- Defining operational protocols.
- Ensuring system safety and reliability.
- Analyzing test results to confirm performance.
- Optimizing existing systems for improved reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
As a Fluid Systems Engineer, you will engage in tasks related to fluidic simulation, testing, and integration of ground and on-board equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying fluid functions for vehicle and ground systems (filling, pressurization, conditioning).
- Conducting sizing studies and dynamic modeling of fluid processes.
- Developing technical solutions for fluid systems.
- Collaborating on vehicle integration with propulsion, architecture, and industrial departments.
- Defining specifications for fluid system components and ensuring supplier compliance with standards.
- Preparing operational documentation for development reviews.
- Developing test logic for ground segments and stage installations.
- Analyzing test results to enhance vehicle performance.
- Coordinating with other engineering departments to address mechanical, electrical, control, and environmental constraints.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, or energy engineering (or equivalent).
- 2+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, chemical, or energy industries.
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and modeling.
- Familiarity with valve technologies, pressure regulators, and industrial piping.
- Experience with modeling software (Ecosim), CAD (NX, Catia), CFD (Fluent, Star CCM+), and programming (Python, MatLab, Fortran).
- Flexible approach to iterative designs.
- Effective team collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficient in English.
