📢We’re shaping the future of hospitality in Paris! We’re proud to announce the opening of the Mercure Paris Butte Montmartre Basilique. Follow us to a historic, highly touristic area of the French capital, between the Sacré Coeur Basilica and the Moulin Rouge. 📍In this high-potential location, the ageing ibis #Paris Sacré-Cœur had done its time; rather than a serious #renovation, a complete transformation was needed. 🚧End 2021, AccorInvest decided to set a virtuous precedent with an ambitious project based on optimum #circularity specifications, the integration of innovative environmental technologies, and upscaling. Two and a half years later, we’ve completed this demanding transformation, and the result goes beyond expectations!✨ 🏨The hotel is indeed a beautiful, inspiring hotel. The Mercure Paris Butte Montmartre Basilique is a journey in itself! ♻️Behind the scene, 82% of the waste generated by the renovation (187 tons) have been reused, recycled or valued. All kinds of discarded furniture and equipment🛋️now benefit other AccorInvest hotels, external partners and charities, and overall, our “Think Circular” approach has avoided the emission of 33 tons of CO². 💚🏆Regarding the hotel’s sustainability, the hotel is aligned with the EU taxonomy and meets the standards required for the obtention of #BREEAM In-Use Excellent certification, the HQE label BDV3 Excellent and the #Effinergie label, acknowledging the hotel’s outstanding environmental performance. The gorgeous interior design, led by Giros & Coutellier, incorporates sustainable materials and construction techniques to minimize future waste. 🔋Tomorrow, the numerous technological innovations we’ve installed (such as our Building Management System, which includes an efficient Guest Room Management System) will enable us to drastically reduce our energy and water consumptions: our aim is to achieve -53% compared to the pre-renovation level. All this whilst ensuring optimum comfort and health conditions for our guests and employees. [#WeAreAccorInvest🙌] Hospitality and sports: both fit him like a glove! Meet Christophe Garnier, Portfolio Manager in the Paris area, who is literally in the starting blocks for the major international sport event in Paris. Christophe explains.🎙️“I’ve always enjoyed hospitality: it’s THE sector with most contact opportunities, and contact is “part of me”! I grew up in France up to age 7, went to school in the Netherlands, came back to France for my upper graduate studies, and worked in China, Cyprus, France, Qatar, the UK, and the US (in alphabetical order). 🗺️I’ve always enjoyed discovering different cultures: the US is very market-oriented, in China the State counts a lot. but in my experience, #teamwork is universal: just be open to others and build relationships proactively.   🏨I joined Accor in 2001 at the Sofitel Paris Bercy (now Pullman) where I learnt the operations side; from reception and F&B to the opening of a small hotel in Paris. I then moved to consulting activities, still in #hospitality, with a focus on investment and performance aspects. I came back to Accor in 2015 to work on #CAPEX management for mid-scale hotels, dealing mostly with renovation programs. In 2018, with AccorInvest, I became Asset Manager for Paris and the La Défense business area. Today, my Portfolio Manager scope covers hotels in central and eastern Paris and at the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. 🏃♂️ The other big “part of me” is #sports. I’ve practiced basketball, rowing, boxing and triathlon.🏀🚣♂️🥊🏊♂️Needless to say I can hardly wait for the major international sport event to start later this month in Paris! I’m going to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the games right where I live: I’ve got tickets to watch wrestling, beach volley, water polo, athletics, horse riding, field hockey and for the Paralympics, I’ll be watching judo, swimming and basketball. With this major event, #Paris will be the center of the world during several weeks and I’m convinced that this will have a long-term positive effect on our attractiveness! Let me tell you about a gorgeous project I’ve followed since its Day 1: the Mercure Paris Butte Montmartre Basilique. It will open in a few days, just before this major international sport event, and it’s a magnificent achievement!✨It’s the result of the transformation of the ageing ibis Sacré Coeur, which was perfectly located in Paris but had become outdated and no longer able to match local competition. Two and a half years ago, after assessing the market, we completely re-thought and transformed the hotel, integrating the latest technical innovations, and we upscaled it to the renowned #Mercure brand. [TRAVEL IN OUR HOTEL PORTFOLIO🏨🗺️] “I love my hotel because it feels like home”🫶:Colin van Vliet, the Operations Manager, clearly has a strong bond with the Hotel ibis Amsterdam City West. We’ve asked him what creates such high engagement here. Colin explains. “I’ve been Operations Manager here for the past three years, and I’m always impressed by this hotel and the teams that bring it to life. Take our location, for example: this hotel was built in 2004, in a drab neighborhood; twenty years later, we’re in a highly attractive district, with close, quick and easy transportation to the airport, the convention center, the central station and the heart of #Amsterdam.🚉 In addition, a few weeks ago, new development plans were launched to make our neighborhood a full-fledged business and residence area over the next 10 years: we will be right in the middle of this adventure!🌆 🏨 Regarding the hotel itself, we’re up to par with guest expectations thanks to 2013 and 2016 renovations, and we have a lot to offer: 180 rooms, a wide range of amenities, our own parking lot (quite exceptional in Amsterdam). We’ve also got our own chef (that too is exceptional in ibis in Holland); he makes delicious à la carte dishes with fresh products, including honey from our own bee-hives. 🍯🍽️ Our cosy atmosphere also makes us stand out: our hotel is not big, not small, in the lobby you feel like you’re in a living room, and our young front desk team is particularly welcoming - that’s why this place “feels like home”, with people who help one another: the 12 nationalities working here are like a world-wide family! I’d also like to mention that this professional family has genuine values – in line with AccorInvest’s Positive Hospitality: #ESG matters to everyone here! ♻️🤝 For instance, we donate our left-over food to homeless people via a local NGO: a social/environmental initiative combining support to the community and food waste reduction. 👧👦Also on the “S” of ESG, we help school children discover “real” hospitality by taking in groups of teenagers, 3-4 times a year. 🐾📦Yet another initiative combines recycling and support to an animal shelter – the money collected by returning bottles is donated to the shelter. 🌱🔋 And of course, the hotel showcases numerous sustainability efforts including increased environmental awareness and energy-saving measures, in particular with new, more efficient equipment.   To evidence our comprehensive ESG approach, our application for #GreenKey certification is under way, and we hope - or should I say expect? - to be certified by the end of the year. 🔑💚Obtaining the Green Key is highly motivating for our teams, as it will acknowledge their ESG engagement and make the ibis Amsterdam City West the very first AccorInvest ibis in the Netherlands to be awarded this prestigious eco-label!” Colin smiles and winks: “We will keep you posted on this of course.”   Janine Kots

With a background that spans #Warsaw and #Paris, Anna's academic journey encompassed #Law, #EuropeanStudies, and Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Sciences. Her professional path has been equally dynamic, having spent several years in international and local law firms, before becoming an #Attorney-at-Law. ✍️Driven by a deep commitment to #humanrights, Anna is actively involved in significant legal bodies such as the International and Human Rights Commission at the Warsaw Bar Association of Attorneys-at-Law (Okręgowa Izba Radców Prawnych w Warszawie (OIRP)) and the Legal Aid Coordination Centre at the National Bar Council of Attorneys-at-Law, focusing particularly on refugee legal assistance. More than just legal expertise, she brings a collaborative spirit and strategic vision to the role. She joined our group in 2015 as an Attorney-at-Law in the Orbis scope, inspired by a personal history - her grandfather was a director at Orbis in the 1940s. [#WeAreAccorInvest🙌] The power of shared passion and teamwork! What were the chances that these two ladies, one French, the other Polish, would have so much in common? Today, we meet Adélaïde Barbier and Emilia Maraszek, who both work in the AccorInvest #Communications team. Adélaïde and Emilia are true Gemini, born 4 days apart, the same year. They both started their career in the Group as interns. Neither one had planned to work in Communication, yet they both thrive there: Emilia as 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 & 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿, and Adélaïde as 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 & 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 - the same #mission, over different geographical scopes. 👉 What do Emilia and Adélaïde like most?
