    You say "just" the images but the images are much more strongly protected than the names. Consider the amount of effort that goes into thinking up a name versus drawing a picture of the thing. Commented Sep 30, 2019 at 22:47

    You may be interested in reading about OrcPub (and OrcPub2) which was / is an online DnD character building tool and the various legal issues they have faced.     Please clarify: What do you mean with "a college board game"? Is it a project made for a class which is only meant to get you a good/passing grade? Or do you intent on making it a product?
