Jessica Drew is a Spider-Person affiliated with Miguel O'Hara's Spider-Society.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Life as Spider-Woman[]

Jessica Drew is a prominent commanding member of the Spider-Society, sharing several canon events such as the spider bite, the inciting loss, and failing to save a police captain who was close ehr. However, Jessica proved to be as stalwart as the others as she continued her vigilantism in her native reality as Spider-Woman. In her world, Jessica had done away with her secret identity to be a publicly recognized superhero. She eventually found love and got married. During her first pregnancy, she and her husband elected to wait and be surprised by the baby's sex at birth. At some point, Jessica encountered Miguel O'Hara amid the early days of his multiversal policing mission, proving herself capable an operative to be among Miguel's inner circle. She also met Peter B. Parker of Earth-616 and both would witness firsthand the devastation of breaking a canon event.

Fight at the Guggenheim Museum[]

Continuing their mission, Jessica provided back-up for Miguel on Earth-65 when dealing with a Vulture from an Italian-Renaissance style universe, meeting Gwen Stacy and deeming her worthy to join their ranks. Saving her from her father from arresting her, Jessica then became a mentor for Gwen in Spider-Society and often assisted her when needed. Gwen would grow to idolize Jessica and view her as a mother figure which was a view and sentiment that was never fully reciprocated by Jessica herself.

Spider-Wars[]

The Pursuit of Spot[]

When Jonathan Ohnn began his villain career as the Spot on Earth-1610, Jessica assigned Gwen to monitor the villain due to her experience on that world. But Jessica was disappointed upon learning Gwen was really reconnecting with Miles, which allowed Spot to build a mini-collider to magnify his powers and freely traverse other dimensions. After LYLA traced Spot's dimension hopping to Earth-50101 in Mumbattan, Jessica ordered Gwen to pursue and leave Miles to rendezvous with the resident Spider-Man, all while preparing a team for a possible canon event disruption. As predicted, Jessica and a squad of genius spiders arrived to contain a breach in reality due to the broken canon event.

Hunt of Miles Morales[]

With the disruption caused by Miles Morales, Jessica ordered Gwen and Miles go to headquarters on Earth-928 to meet Miguel for discussion, joined by Spider-Punk. After Miguel elaborated canon events and anomalies, Miles wanted to avert his impending canon event where his father would die upon becoming police captain, and Jessica sided with Miguel in imprisoning Miles out of a pragmatic responsibility to preserve multiversal stability. However, the rebellious Hobie helped Miles escape, leading Jess and most of Spider-Society to pursue Miles in a frenzied chase across the futuristic Nueva York, but Miles eventually escaped via the Go-Home-Machine. Jessica then sided with Miguel to eject Gwen from their ranks for her part in Miles's actions. After Gwen was returned to Earth-65, Jessica accompanied Miguel in seeking Miles on Earth-1610. However, Jessica strangely found Gwen, who was able to get there thorough Spider-Punk's help, having a talk with Miles's parents at the Morales house. Seeing this and still cares about Gwen, Jessica started to question her intentions and the Spider-Society. Jessica then watched Gwen leave Miles' universe with a sad expression, suggesting that she may feel conflicted in her loyalties. She elected to not notify Miguel about Gwen's whereabouts.

Personality[]

Jessica is shown to have a confident air about her while being strict with her subordinate agents, being a perfect mentor and heroine. She presents a maternal and sympathetic nature, as she recruited Gwen due to her situation. However, several months later, Jessica became strict, stoic, and harsh, even to Gwen, especially as she would remind her of all the warnings she gave. Despite the attitude change, she does care about Gwen. Unfortunately, Jessica mentorship was not enough to defend Gwen from Miguel when the Spider-Verse was at risk as she choose his side. However, Jessica's care and concern for Gwen ultimately rule out as she starts to question her loyalties towards Miguel. Also, Jessica is aware of Gwen's feelings for Miles Morales as she would't stop talking about him when she mentor her and tolerated him just to make her happy.
