@HPCpodcast: DOE’s Chalk Talks Lab Supercomputing Budgets, ECP’s Legacy and Women in HPC

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Christine Chalk

The future of supercomputing isn’t what it used to be, and few know that better than Christine Chalk, federal program manager for the recently completed Exascale Computing Project (ECP) and the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility, and physical scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Chalk is responsible for budget formulation for the Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program in DOE’s Office of Science. She also manages the Advanced Scientific Computing Advisory Committee and the Computational Science Graduate Fellowship.

In this episode of the @HPCpodcast, she joins Shahin and Doug to talk about the legacy of ECP, how policy turns into DOE HPC budgets, the future of leadership supercomputing at the national labs and the role of women in HPC.
