Investments Data Analyst/Specialist

Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Mumbai office:

MMGS – Investments Data Analyst/Specialist

A Investments Data Analyst/Specialist will be expected to perform below list of activities

We will count on you to:

As a part of the Global Investment Data team, you will be required to –

• Understand & Process complex data sets so as to carry daily/periodic task along and for purposes of delivering/providing trusted data to Eagle Pace (from StateStreet, Databank and other systems)

• Work on exception captured by placed quality checks and conducting RCA on the issue to maintain consistency of data on client holdings, transactions, Prices etc.

• Run Daily/Weekly/Monthly processing in order to support BAU –Task assigned

• Pro-active & self-learner and carries right attitude towards challenges to bring or suggest Process Improvement Idea.

What you need to have:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related discipline.

• Familiarity with designing data models, defining data architecture schema etc.

• Proficiency with data processing and data warehouse / big data environments. Strong knowledge of Excel/VBA and demonstrated experience of languages like SQL.

• Must have knowledge of Eagle or similar application Modules –RDC,PDC, DATAMART & reporting tools

• Must have skillset in Reference Database Management System(RDBMS)

• Must have Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power point preferred. Visio, process flow mapping (as IS –to BE)

• Good to have familiarity with ETL tools for efficiently and accurately importing new data for various external/internal sources.

• Good to have Exposure towards creating Test cases – Negative testing, regression testing

• Good to have exposure of Project Management tools – Jira Kanban, Confluence

• Familiarity with unit funds / NAVs would be beneficial, ideally with a familiarity with aspects like funds structure, Share-classes, asset classes etc.

• Good analytical and technical abilities as the role would involve around ability to spot anomalies and act/report on them.

• Good communication skills to ensure issues clearly identified and explained to various interested parties

• Proactively enhance existing process where improvements can be made

What makes you stand out?

• Understanding of Data Management routines & procedures.
• Understanding of the financial services industry, specifically Investment Accounting.
• Understanding of the software product management lifecycle and/or investment performance measurement and analysis.
• Experience of business process improvement in asset management – for example, performing data investigations to determine root cause of data quality issues.
• Expertise and demonstrated experience of Eagle Pace
