“Beyond quality of life issues, when people are unable to deal with extreme heat, economic productivity and livelihoods suffer," writes Neelanjan Sircar, Director, Centre for Rapid Insights, Artha Global in his latest article in Hindustan Times.   This piece was written based on primary results from an IVR survey run across the country. A key takeaway is that in order for heat mitigation strategies to be impactful, the differential impacts of heat must be recognised and considered when drafting the same. Socio-economic status, gender, and type of work also determine the impact of extreme heat. For example, those who do not own cars are exposed more through daily movement, or those who live in dense, low-income neighbourhoods with little green cover are especially vulnerable. Honored to have presented OPC Hub India information at VDMA conference on Smart Manufacturing Technologies - Revolutionizing the Future” at Bangalore on 5th July 2024, exploring the frontier of Automation & Robotics in manufacturing. The event was a dynamic forum where we examined the rapid evolution and widespread adoption of these technologies across diverse sectors. We delved into how robotics and automation are revolutionizing efficiency, fostering innovation, and catalyzing global economic advancement. My session focused on the transformative impact of OPC UA on shop floor communication for device-device, device-controller, controller-cloud, machine-cloud aspects, emphasizing on how OPC UA is enhancing interoperability, seamless information exchange, security, digitalization and transparency in industrial automation. I also stressed the need of Standards considering vendor agnostic, device agnostic data management capabilities. It was an interesting HR Round Table with the HR fraternity and experts from the #wellness field. Clearly, the #futureofwork will need to incorporate #employeewellbeing at the workplace. It would mean being sensitive to the physical health and #mentalhealth of employees. #Leadership initiatives would need to include #sustainableleadership and management leading to organizational sustainability.
