On the surface, the recent Ticketmaster breach—the second breach in a matter of days— looks like a consumer data issue. But a warning to not dismiss the incident, as your corporate security may be at serious risk.    Consider this:    - 69% of consumers shop online while at work.  - 87% of employees use personal applications on work devices.    Chances are, some of your employees have used corporate credentials on Ticketmaster. Imagine if an employee reused a password they also use for a work system; this means that your company’s systems are now vulnerable to a credential stuffing attack.    Let’s be honest: the lines between personal and professional life often blur, especially when it comes to technology use. It’s common practice for employees to use their personal devices to shop (or purchase tickets on Ticketmaster) with accounts that may be using corporate credentials. This behavior introduces significant security gaps that traditional SaaS security products that rely on network traffic, such as firewalls and cloud access security brokers (CASBs), cannot detect.   So what should you do, and how can you remediate the risks from the Ticketmaster breach? We’ll post a link in the comments to a new blog post that provides more detail. #Ticketmasterbreach #Ticketmaster #cyberrisks #cybersecurity

A single SaaS app might seem secure and low-risk on its own. But when organizations have dozens or even hundreds of unmonitored and unsecured SaaS accounts, it’s a different story—the risks snowball, and your attack surface grows.     SaaS adds value to an organization, but these apps should be considered external risks requiring robust protection. Additionally, managing shadow SaaS is a critical challenge CISOs must address. That’s where Grip comes in.     Book a free SaaS risk assessment and let us reveal your organization’s shadow SaaS and rogue IaaS tenants—don't let your unseen risks have costly consequences. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱. This adage is especially true for #SaaS adoption and managing the associated SaaS risks. Since the pandemic, employees have increasingly acquired their own SaaS tools, bypassing IT oversight—this "business-led IT" boosts agility but also introduces significant security challenges. Gartner projects that by 2027, 75% of employees will create or modify tech outside IT’s view. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲; 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Employees know their needs best and can quickly access SaaS tools. However, this surge in shadow SaaS poses risks that we cannot ignore. Leadership plays a critical role in cultivating a forward-thinking and secure business environment. By understanding and addressing the challenges of employee-initiated SaaS, we can steer our companies toward a future where innovation and security go hand-in-hand. 🤔 Imagine this: You’re working diligently to secure your organization’s digital landscape, but lurking in the shadows are unseen threats that could compromise everything you’ve worked to protect.   Unmanaged shadow SaaS is one of these silent saboteurs. It increases the risk of data breaches, potentially jeopardizes regulatory compliance, and often goes unnoticed by traditional security measures. Most organizations vastly underestimate the impact of shadow SaaS and rogue IaaS tenant accounts.   ❗️Here’s the kicker: SSPMs are often blind to shadow SaaS, and CASBs, while helpful, can be noisy and difficult to operationalize effectively.   So, what’s the real risk hiding in your SaaS ecosystem? It’s time to shed light on these hidden dangers and take control. Agree?   ✅ Get your free SaaS risk assessment today and take the first step towards a more secure digital future: https://lnkd.in/eZY4BwnC #CyberSecurity #SaaSSecurity #ShadowSaaS #TechInnovation #RiskManagement

Cybersecurity is much like a relentless game of “whac-a-mole”—new technologies emerge, and with them, new threats that security teams must quickly address. Remember the internet boom of the late 20th century? Businesses rushed to embrace new tech, transforming how we work, communicate, and share information. But with these advancements came a host of cyber threats—our “moles”—like malware, the Morris Worm, the ILOVEYOU virus, and email phishing. Our response? Antivirus software, employee security training, new laws, and various security platforms—our collective effort to "whac" these threats and protect our organizations. Fast forward to today. Since OpenAI unveiled #ChatGPT in November 2022, generative AI has exploded. And with it, we’re facing a new wave of threats, appearing faster than ever. How serious is this issue, and what does it take to stay ahead in a game that’s quickly sprawling out of control? It’s time we rethink our strategies, adapt faster, and ensure our defenses are as innovative as the technologies we’re trying to protect. The game has changed—are we ready to keep up? 🤔 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eVB3iPhf #CyberSecurity #TechInnovation #GenerativeAI #SecurityChallenges

Employee churn is a reality we all face, whether through involuntary separation, layoffs, or employees moving on—and your offboarding process is a crucial component of your organization’s #cybersecurity.   Zombie accounts and dangling access are open doors to your systems, especially when shadow SaaS is involved. When #SaaS subscriptions are initiated outside IT’s oversight, these accounts can linger due to gaps in identifying and shutting them down after an employee leaves. In fact, 31% of employees still have access to their former employer’s software accounts. Are you confident that you’ve terminated access for the employees who have left your company? 🤔   Grip can show you every former employee who still has access to your applications with a username and password and automatically revoke that access.
