👗OPEN UNTIL THE 6TH OF OCTOBER👗 Eastern European Beauty – Contemporary Fashion Photography & the Eastern European Aesthetic Through seventeen photographic projects, the exhibition Eastern European Beauty offers possible explanations of what the “Eastern European aesthetic” consists of, what its main characteristics are, and what meanings it can assume in the international art, photography and fashion scenes. The exhibition space functions as a kind of three-dimensional anthology. In one half of the exhibition, Hungarian photographers with a two-fold background – having their own artistic projects besides working in the fashion industry – present their ideas about their profession and the “Eastern European aesthetic” through their own work. 📸: Tombor Zoltán - Cím nélkül #03, Érd (a Hazafelé sorozatból), 2019 #capacenter #capaközpont #fotókiállítás #kortársmagyarfotográfia #kortársnemzetközifotográfia #youngphotography #contemporary #photography #kiállítás #divat #fashion #fashionphoto #editorial
Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center
Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos
A new and modern visual arts institute in Budapest opened in 2013.
About us
A new and modern visual arts institute in Budapest opened in December 2013. The institute organizes national and international exhibitions; founded a prestigious photography award; and presents national and international photographers and photography workshops. Activities also include foreign study tours, public discussions, lectures, thematic film screenings, and performances, along with events of other art disciplines. Established in the centennial year of Robert Capa’s birth, the Center supports its operational, functional, and program costs from state subsidies, grants, and its own income. Our objectives are to promote world-famous Hungarian photography and to have photography recognized as an independent art genre in Hungary.

🎥MIKLÓS GULYÁS - CASTING🎥 There is a casting on the street, actors come and go, some slowly stumble carrying weights, others lightly amble along. Those who are busy, hurry, those who aren’t, stop. Protesting or littering, standing guard or strolling babies, sleeping on benches or changing the world. They are wealthy with 3 Airbnbs or they have nothing, no real estate, things to do or things to lose. They wander the streets endlessly, time standing still. Certain looks are pin-sharp with tension vibrating, others are fluid, dreamy, hesitant. Some know their part in advance, others have no idea what’s in store for them. Cut-out stills, drawn reality – the pictures of Miklós Gulyás. On view: April 26 – June 4, 2024 Every day 9 am – 7 pm Closed on public holidays. 📸: Miklós Gulyás #capacenter #capaközpont #fotókiállítás #kortársmagyarfotográfia #kortársnemzetközifotográfia #youngphotography #contemporary #photography #programmes #exhibition #kiállítás #miklosgulyás #8fgallery #kiállítás

EMESE TÓTHOVÁ: PLAYTIME – Within the Four Walls - OVERVIEW 4.0 Games teach us, but they can also be cruel. In addition to the fun and intimacy, Emese Tóthová’s images evoke a world of trial games where you must prove your ability, which is often part of initiation rites. Whether it is a kindergarten playground or a camp for freshmen. So, games often challenge us or our patience and break us out of our usual routines, but they can also be considered as self-awareness exercises. The exhibition invites the viewer into a light and contemplative space, evoking the games’ liberating, magical world and ambivalent nature. The exhibition is on display on the first floor of the Capa Center until the 2nd of June. 📸: Emese Tóthová - How to play #capacenter #capaközpont #fotókiállítás #kortársmagyarfotográfia #kortársnemzetközifotográfia #youngphotography #contemporary #photography #programmes #exhibition #átlátás #ffs #kiállítás

🎉MIKLÓS GULYÁS - CASTING OPENING🎉 The photographer is roaming the streets of Budapest since the 1980’s. He feels its rhythm, palpating its arteries with steady hands. Houses and plasterwork crumble before his eyes, trees are planted and cut down, hot asphalt is laid down just to be broken by jackhammers later. Periods, eras, time horizons follow each other, but he keeps on recording his own subjective reality with sensitive eyes. On the 25th of April 2024, Zsófi Kemény, writer, slammer opened the exhibition in the Capa Center’s 8F Gallery. #capacenter #capaközpont #fotókiállítás #kortársmagyarfotográfia #kortársnemzetközifotográfia #youngphotography #contemporary #photography #gulyásmiklós #exhibition #opening

✨Miklós Gulyás - Casting OPENING✨ Opening: Thursday, April 25, 2024, 6 pm Opening remarks by KEMÉNY Zsófi, író, slammer /writer, slammer Curator: Katalin Kopin, art historian Venue: Robert Capa Contemporary Photograhy Center 8F Gallery 1065 Budapest, Nagymező utca 8. In his photography, he searched for autonomous paths right from the beginning. Photojournalism proved to be too strict of a framework, he strived to find the visual constellations that matched his feelings the best. He doesn’t believe in realistic portrayals, he doesn’t identify his images with reality, although they are definitely drawn from it. He pays immaculate attention to locations, spaces, architectural elements, but these all provide only backgrounds for the chosen subjects, gestures and expressions. 📸: Miklós Gulyás #capacenter #capaközpont #fotókiállítás #kortársmagyarfotográfia #kortársnemzetközifotográfia #youngphotography #contemporary #photography #capazine #vernissage #party #ffs #átlátás
