A Lectra company. Creating transparent supply chains

About us

TextileGenesis™ is a pioneering traceability platform custom built for the apparel ecosystem. Our platform is an outcome of intensive “grass-root” discussions with the entire apparel supply chain from fiber producers, fabric mills, dyeing house, cut & sew, to retail brands. It's custom-built for the premium and sustainable textiles such as wood-based fibers, premium cotton, specialty filaments, silk, wool and cashmere. Our vision is two fold: creating radical transparency from fiber-to-retail, and ensuring authenticity & provenance of sustainable textiles against generics.

Founded in 2018, TextileGenesis, a Lectra company, provides a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that enables fashion brands and sustainable textile manufacturers to ensure a reliable, secure and fully digital mapping of their textiles, from the fiber to the consumer, and thereby guarantee their authenticity and origins. Its innovative traceability mechanism, which addresses both ends of the textile value chain, as well as its network of partners for material certification, and its technology platform guarantee the exchange and tracking of reliable and secure data throughout a material's life cycle. TextileGenesis' AI traceability engine ensures that every operation on the system reflects the real-world complexities and various supply-chain scenarios (10kg of organic cotton fibers becomes 8 kg of yarn sold to weavers accounting for appropriate waste loss etc.). This creates an inbuilt robust verification system for each real-world transaction. Our cover art this time was created by Baris Gencel, who we also interview about process and possibilities. The AI conversation is inescapable in every industry, but the combination of technology, culture, and creativity is particularly hard to unpick in fashion. To start that job, the AI Report 2024 includes thought leadership and investigations from our in-house team as well as Jonathan Brun of Off/Script, Mackenzie Ryan, Aasia D'Vaz-Sterling, Emma Feldner-Busztin, Kevin Cochrane of Vultr, Mark Harrop, Goor Moshe, Eric Huiza, Jessica Quillin, PhD, and Bryce Quillin PhD. And we open with forewords from Ben Hanson, and Kelly Helfman, President of MMGNET Group. We also feature exclusive interviews with senior executives from 14 tech companies looking to deploy AI in meaningful, practical ways across the fashion value chain - and we'll spotlight these in a separate announcement post! Commercial Director and Traceability Leader

Reflections after a few days of sharing and listening at the Première Vision: 📍Traceability has evolved from being about authentication of sustainable materials to being about visibility of every supply chain. 📍Legislation is the only way we can change the behaviour of what and how we buy. Relying on brave individuals to take hard decisions will take too much time. Thank you for a good debate on the topic Marc 😊 📍Sustainable, verified and traceable fibre needs to come at a higher price to guarantee that the actors in the supply chain are fairly compensated. Do you have anything to add? I would love to hear your thoughts below 👇

Recently we announced a new collaboration with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), an international NGO whose mission is to promote responsible forest management worldwide.  Amit Gautam explains “This new collaboration will support companies in the #traceability of FSC certified fibers and support the administration and data management of FSC Chain of Custody certification. All players in the value chain will benefit from increased #transparency and much more reliable upstream data. Fashion brands will be able to demonstrate much more easily that their garments use textiles made from responsibly sourced man-made cellulose fibers." Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eQr759KW

We are excited to announce a major new collaboration with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®)! 👏🏻 It will enable the implementation, via our platform, of new solutions to ensure the #traceability of cellulose fibers from responsibly managed forests. In #fashion, many textiles such as viscose, lyocell and modal use man-made cellulose fibers. These fibers are themselves made from wood pulp, the production of which can contribute to deforestation. Find out more details in the press release (https://lnkd.in/eQr759KW) and below 👇
