【CLP𝘦’s BESS widely adopted at construction sites】 CLP𝘦’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) has been widely adopted, with over 15 construction companies using it at more than 50 construction sites. 【Young and Aspiring Engineers Unite for an Unforgettable Low-carbon Energy Challenge】 Nearly 100 secondary school students came together for an exciting Low-carbon Energy Challenge at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) campus. As part of CLP's Engineer-in-School programme aiming to educate young minds on the power expertise and the importance of decarbonisation, the STEM Day taught youngsters about clean energy and explored the fundamentals of green hydrogen energy. They assembled omni-wheeled robots to complete missions, inspiring them to step out of their classrooms and explore the need for sustainable development. Launched in 2016, CLP Engineer-in-School programme adopts novel approaches to educate secondary school students about the importance of energy saving and decarbonisation. The programme includes visits to schools by CLP Power engineers who explain their profession and careers paths in power engineering to inspire interest in the industry. It has so far reached more than 71,000 youngsters in around 190 secondary schools. #CLP #EngineeringinSchool #Youth

【CLP Power Wins Outstanding Rehabilitation Partners Award for Helping to Steer Young Inmates towards Brighter Tomorrows】 CLP Power was presented with an Outstanding Rehabilitation Partners Award at an appreciation ceremony hosted by the Correctional Services Department (CSD) in recognition of CLP Power’s contributions in providing rehabilitation opportunities to young people in custody and helping to build a more inclusive and harmonious society. CLP Power has since 2022 taken part in CSD’s Project Jet, which provide young inmates with opportunities for training and career development in a holistic approach. We held a series of career talks, induction courses, visits, internships and job opportunities to introduce young inmates to the power industry and the career development of engineering profession. 【CLP Proudly Participates in the Inspiring Girls Hong Kong (IGHK) Career Fair】   As a company committed to promoting diversity and empowering the next generation, we were honoured to participate in the Career Fair organised by the Inspiring Girls Hong Kong (IGHK).   The IGHK Career Fair aims to empower local secondary school girls with valuable insights, guidance, and opportunities by exposing them to diverse career opportunities in traditionally male-dominated industries, particularly in the fields of STEM, Finance, and Sustainability, hoping to help them discover and explore professions that may have seemed unattainable or unfamiliar.   We have invited our female engineers to serve as a “Human Library”, sharing their daily work experiences and career journeys. This initiative aims to help the girls understand the possibilities and potential in the power industry, and to inspire them to pursue their dreams fearlessly. 【Elderly Learn Upcycling to Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ‘Sharing the Festival Joy’】 The CLP Sharing the Festival Joy programme celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year with the theme of Upcycling. CLP teamed up with Fusion HUB to arrange six upcycling workshops for over 180 elderly from St. James’ Settlement, teaching them to use nearly 300 garments collected from CLP volunteers and turn them into unique mobile phone bags, cushion covers, and tote bags; as well as the importance of waste reduction at source. At the festive luncheon on 8 June, the elderly showcased their upcycling products and explained design process as well as transformation process involved to CLP Power Managing Director Mr Joseph Law, Executive Council Member Dr Lam Ching-choi, Fusion HUB Founder Ms Christie Hoo, and St. James’ Settlement Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ms Connie Ng. Forty CLP volunteers also shared tips on energy saving and low carbon living with the elderly through interactive games.
