Reading If we wanted to write tutorials or explanations for work done how would we go about doing that? I saw a discussion of how to embed videos in answers.

We don't do video, but we can have animated gifs in answers (here's one of Scott'shere's one of Scott's) - these can work nicely when needed because they are necessarily short and snappy. Some video tutorials are 7 minutes of some guy saying "Okay, and now if you look here you'll see I'm just going to go ahead and..." when the only bit you actually need to see to get the idea is 4 seconds somewhere right in the middle.

Can someone post the simplest way to make these? I think I remember seeing Scott posting some link in a comment somewhere but I've got no idea where.
