What specific section or headline is this issue about?

Syntax

What information was incorrect, unhelpful, or incomplete?

Current text:

The font-variant-ligatures property is specified as one of the keyword values listed below.

Grammar:

normal | none | [ <common-lig-values> || <discretionary-lig-values> || <historical-lig-values> || <contextual-alt-values> ]
<common-lig-values>        = [ common-ligatures | no-common-ligatures ]
<discretionary-lig-values> = [ discretionary-ligatures | no-discretionary-ligatures ]
<historical-lig-values>    = [ historical-ligatures | no-historical-ligatures ]
<contextual-alt-values>    = [ contextual | no-contextual ]

Double bar:

A double bar (||) separates two or more options: one or more of them must occur, in any order.

What did you expect to see?

Something like syntax description in font-variant-numeric, for example:

This property can take one of two forms:

- either the keyword value `normal` or `none`
- or one or more of the other (positive or negative) values listed below, space-separated, in any order.

It's a pretty complicated grammar, so maybe a much larger explanation would help instead though.

Do you have any supporting links, references, or citations?
