When you register a domain name, you’re required to provide complete and accurate registration information. In most cases, the contact information you provide as part of the registration process will be used as your administrative contact, technical contact, and billing contact. This contact information can be [updated at any time](https://en.support.wordpress.com/update-contact-information/).

If the domain name registration information you’ve provided differs from the WordPress.com account holder’s information, we consider the administrative contact in the domain’s WHOIS records (the contact information provided on WordPress.com as part of the domain registration process) to be the owner of the domain, with full authority to manage the domain.
