It is with great sadness that our family announce the passing away of Valerie, at the Lindsey Lodge Hospice Scunthorpe, on 02 July 2024, after a brave and determined fight against cancer. Dearly loved mother & mother-in-law [Mum] to Allan, Cheryl, Jackie and Julie; Carol, Mick, Ian and Mick; grandmother to Chris, Suzie, Tony, Alex, Michelle, Karen, Alice, and Andy; great grandmother to nine children; and sister to surviving brothers Ian and Terry, Mum is now reunited with her loving husband Cedric.
In accordance with the expressed wishes of Mum, there will not be an attended funeral and Mum's interment will be private to the immediate family. A gathering will be held at a later date for all friends and family to celebrate and share memories of our wonderful mother.
Also, in accordance with the wishes of Mum, it would be appreciated if donations to Lindsey Lodge Hospice were made instead of flowers. This can be done through their JustGiving web site or J.Naylor Funeral Directors, Scunthorpe.
