In EA's Legal team, we deliver practical solutions, understand our business partners' goals and business models, and keep up with the evolving legal landscape.

Come join us! We're hiring a Legal Counsel (m/f/d). This is a full time role within EA's Legal Team for a period of 6-7 months starting on 1 st August 2024 for a maternity leave replacement. You will report to EA's Senior Counsel at EA France in Lyon and support the business in the Southern EU region (France, Italy, Benelux, Spain) and LATAM.

The position is based in our EA France office in Lyon and can also be offered on a hybrid work model of two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to a team of attorneys, legal professionals, and business partners.
  • Provide expert advice with a focus on laws in relation to marketing, IP and commercial law as well as general civil law matters.
  • Provide guidance and support on a variety of legal matters, answer day-to-day legal queries and conduct legal research.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts such as marketing, services, cooperation, promotion and license agreements in close coordination with our business teams.
  • Manage the corporate updates of the regional EA entities (PoAs, Board of directors, Bylaws etc.).
  • Support different internal departments such as Marketing, Sales, Finance and build a close relationship with EA's business teams and its individual stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of international or commercial Law degree from a French university/school or equivalent legal education with solid experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Practical experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Professional knowledge with a focus on consumer laws, commercial, marketing, IP and general civil law.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage a variety of tasks with strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong teamwork capability.
  • Business orientated and problem solving.
  • Enjoy working in a passionate and matrixed organization.
  • Aspiration to work in the games industry.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Good written Spanish.
