Our teams are already working hard getting ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to begin, for example on the Universeine project in Saint-Denis developed in collaboration with the Société de Livraison des Ouvrages Olympiques - SOLIDEO, where the Athletes’ Village will be based, or the Stade de France®, which will host the closing ceremonies for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Group’s maintenance and multi-technical specialists are also doing their bit to support the teams at Paris 2024 by providing facility management services at their headquarters. The pledges made by Paris 2024 to develop a more responsible model for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, halving the volume of carbon emissions generated compared to previous editions of the Games, while creating even more job opportunities and maximising the positive impact sport can have on society, closely reflect the VINCI Group’s own commitment. VINCI is living up to its environmental commitment for 2030, which in particular strives to achieve a 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions across scopes 1 and 2, for example by using low-carbon concrete to build the Athletes’ Village. [New contracts 👷♂️ 🏭 ] VINCI wins a contract for green hydrogen steel plant in Germany Cobra IS, a VINCI subsidiary, has been selected by SMS group to carry out the piping and mechanical works on part of the steel production plant of the steelmaker thyssenkrupp Steel Europe in Duisburg in Germany. The works are worth 74 million euros. With an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of DRI (Direct Reduced Iron), it is the first site in Germany designed to run exclusively with #greenhydrogen. This project is a decisive step in the #transition from an industry with a very high carbon footprint to environmentally friendly technologies. It will save up to 3.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year.

[Nouveaux contrats 👷♂️ 🏭 ] VINCI remporte un contrat pour un site sidérurgique en Allemagne, qui fonctionnera exclusivement l’hydrogène vert. Cobra IS, filiale du groupe VINCI, a été retenu par SMS group pour réaliser des travaux d’une partie du complexe industriel de l’aciériste thyssenkrupp Steel Europe à Duisbourg en Allemagne. Ces travaux s’élèvent à 74 millions d’euros. Doté d’une capacité de production annuelle de 2,5 millions de tonnes de minerai de fer préréduit, c’est le premier site en Allemagne conçu pour fonctionner exclusivement à l’hydrogène vert. Ce projet marque ainsi une étape majeure dans la transition d’une industrie à très forte empreinte carbone vers des technologies écologiquement responsables. Il évitera chaque année jusqu’à 3,5 millions de tonnes d’émissions de CO2.

Une nouvelle vie pour l'ancienne manufacture des Pianos Gaveau 🎹   BATEG (VINCI Construction en France) a réceptionné REplay : ce sont 4 bâtiments de bureaux interconnectés qui s'articulent autour de deux verrières et d’une cour arborée.   🌡️ Ce projet utilise la géothermie pour son système de production de chaud et de froid avec des forages à 53 mètres de profondeur   🪵 La charpente bois des bâtiments existants a été déplombée, traitée et renforcée afin de conserver et valoriser le patrimoine existant.   🔖 Le projet vise la certification BREEAM® Very Good ainsi que le label WiredScore   Et pour terminer sur une bonne note, et non des moindres :  plus de 1260 m³ de béton très bas carbone ont été coulées, soit 107 tonnes équivalent CO₂ évitées ! ___ A second lease of life for the old Pianos Gaveau factory 🎹 BATEG (VINCI Construction en France) accepted delivery of REplay – 4 interconnected office buildings standing around two glass canopies and a tree-lined courtyard. 🌡️ The heating system is powered by geothermal energy, with wells 53 m deep 🪵 The lead was removed from the wooden framework of the existing buildings, which were then treated and strengthened to preserve and protect existing heritage 🔖 The project strives to obtain BREEAM® Very Good certification and the WiredScore label And, last but definitely not least, over 1,260 m³ of very low carbon concrete was used, equating to 107 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent avoided!

Il a servi aux équipes de BESSAC et de CHANTIERS MODERNES CONSTRUCTION pour mener à bien les travaux du collecteur hydraulique VL8 à Valenton (94) pour le compte du SIAAP. L'objectif : renforcer et sécuriser le réseau d'assainissement et éviter les risques de déversement dans le milieu naturel pour permettre une « baignabilité » en Seine. 👏 Bravo à toutes les équipes présentes qui œuvrent à la réussite de ce chantier ! ____ 🏁 Kristell the TBM has finished its job! Used by the teams from BESSAC and CHANTIERS MODERNES CONSTRUCTION to complete the work on the VL8 hydraulic collector in Valenton for SIAAP. The idea is to strengthen and secure the sanitation network, and also avoid the risk of discharge into the natural environment to make the Seine suitable for swimming. 👏 Well done to all the teams involved in making this project a success!

Renato is a controller at Axians Schweiz AG. Since 1996, he has been practising an unusual sport: sport shooting, and more specifically crossbow shooting 🎯 At work, as in his sport, concentration is the most important thing: discover the story of this two-time world champion! While his sporting career is that of a great champion, his best memory remains that of his junior world champion title in 2001: “The atmosphere on the competition site, the air was literally crackling with tension and the feeling of being in the flow in the decisive title competition was a very moving experience for me.”
