I was wondering if a 2.5 inch nvme SSD would fit in my motherboard and if I would need an adapter for my fans to reach. I have a dell OptiPlex 7010 mt.

That is a scam do not purchase that SSD. There isn't a 1080 Pro Samsung SSD yet. Not to mention you will not find a 4TB SSD, regardless of performance, for $30.

The board appears to accept 2280 M.2 but doesn't specifically say so. The Samsung off brand copy SSD appears that it will fit there and is PCIe 3 as is the board.

In addition, the B75 level motherboards could not boot from an NVMe drive. That did not come into place until the *97 era.

Lastly, the B75 boards are now 12 years old (2012). Why buying into such an ancient platform?

"slow download" is almost certainly not a result of having an HDD.

It is an M.2 2280. However, without knowing your exact motherboard I cannot say for sure. You provided a link to an ebay motherboard but IDK if that is what you have or not. Do realize that if you have an M.2 slot you still won't be able to boot from it on that old of a motherboard so you will still be dealing with an HDD for booting. I agree with USAFRet in a SATA III SSD would be a better choice.
