Hi, I want to rename all the files in my folders (1.pdf, 2.pdf, 1.pages, 2.pages) & reset it for subfolders... is there a way using Automator?
(& keep the folder names as they already are)

(I don't know how to use Automator!)

(also, for adding dates to folder names, can I use "6/9/2024", or should I not use slash characters in folder/file names?)
(& when i convert images files to .jpg, the Finder uses .jpeg ...is there a way to change the default to .jpg?)

Can use Automator.

Can also use Shortcuts: "Get Contents of Folder" action, "repeat with each", "rename repeat item to abc". Can also make folders with Shortcuts.

Can't use "/" for folder names, so will need to format the dates to mm-dd-yyyy (though I prefer yyyy-mm-dd as will get sorting "by date" when changing view to sort by name in Finder). And can format the date in Shortcuts using the "Format Date" action, just choose "Custom" for the format option and input "yyyy-MM-dd".
