I would like to serve as a moderator for the Ethereum Stack Exchange, in order to better contribute to the development of the site and the Ethereum ecosystem as a whole.

I have been regularly contributing to the site since it was in private beta, and I want to be sure that the site remains a resource for both new users and experienced developers to share knowledge.

As a trusted user for much of the life of this site, I have had many of the privileges and responsibilities entrusted to moderators, and have acted fairly and consistently to keep the quality of questions as high as possible.

As more and more new users join the site, I believe that having a solid core team of moderators and trusted users is indispensable in order to keep the site clean and clear of duplicates and non-answers, and to serve as the "human exception handlers" for the community.

Why nominate?

• I consider myself as a helpful person dedicated to helping others in their hour of need.
• I pay a special attention to the new users. I guide them politely to find the answers they need and I help them to understand how the site works. I've been awarded the steward badge Badge for reviewing 1000 First Posts (I am the only user who has the steward badge ^^ no brag here, just fact).
• I enjoy answering questions.
• Since 2016, SE is the first website I visit every day (I have my Fanatic badge) and I spend more time on SE than on Facebook.
• every day, I try to keep the content clean, to clear the review queue, to edit, to close, re-open,flag posts and to answer questions.
• I firmly believe that every question is an urgent need, it should be treated quickly.

• I speak on Ethereum meetups in Silicon Valley

• I am a teacher on "Decentralized Applications on Ethereum Platform" course in a Russian university
• I am working on open source project Oracles Network, a fork of Ethereum with POA consensus by independent validators.

I'm committed for a long time to Ethereum and hope to help the community here.

I think an important part of being a moderator is being moderate, fair & not use it to push your bias or opinions. Everyone has reasons that they might not say why they want to be a moderator. My main interest is the community (really good, objective information for the community) and helping other moderators. I think I have done a good job of using moderator privileges fairly. I do not want to bias debates whether it is about classic, or some product, service, tool, or framework against each other. I also do not have anything to promote on this site.

My view of Ethereum Stack Exchange is the place for high quality questions and high quality answers about Ethereum. We should try to remain objective & keep the subjective to other sites like Reddit.

I agree with https://stackoverflow.blog/2009/05/18/a-theory-of-moderation and hope to have been a good example, respectful, fair. I am always open to your feedback too!

I've been involved with Blockchain Technology (starting with Bitcoin) for 5 years now and I've been developing on Bitcoin, Ethereum and some other blockchains as the full time job for the last 3 years.

My main contribution to the community has been contributing to open source projects such as Web3.js, Web3.py, Mist Wallet, pycoin, and some others. you can see more on my Github page: github.com/shayanb

I have participated in Ethereum both as a researcher and a developer for several months. I developed smart contracts, private networks and Node.js (d)applications that involve Ethereum accounts and transactions.

I also enjoyed participating in Q&A here and other Ethereum-related platforms. I don't have moderation experience in SE prior to Ethereum, but I've done a good deal of reviewing here.

I like learning, asking and answering questions, and help others learn as well. I believe in fair, guiding moderation. Especially when it comes to newcomers, I believe with the correct tone, they could be guided in asking and maintaining high quality questions that will be beneficial to all.

Hi there. I'm Richard, I'm 35 and from the UK.

I've been a member of Ethereum Stack Exchange since day one, and backed it during its Area 51 phase. Before the Ethereum site came along I spent most of my time at the Tor SE site.

My reason for joining Ethreum SE was so I could learn. I learned a lot, and I still do. But my focus has changed, and I now spend most of my time putting back into the community by helping others.

The Ethereum technology stack is big and difficult and scary to people who are new to it, and our community provides an extremely important service. As such, I believe in treating new or less experienced users fairly and with respect, regardless of how basic or "dumb" their questions seem.

I also believe in the development of the community, and putting in the effort to make it better. For example, if you're voting to close a poor question, explain why you're closing it to help that person develop an understanding of what makes a good question.

As a moderator I believe I would be able to continue the very good work of the current moderators, and further increase my contribution to the site.

Since I have written a compiler for the Ethereum Virtual Machine, I have some fairly low-level knowledge about Ethereum. I have used geth and have written command line interface scripts for intereacting with geth. I have also developed a modification of the ERC20 token contract API.
