Career Advisor (Hospitality Academy)

As Hospitality Academy’s Career Advisor, you will be an essential part of a collaborative team dedicated to fostering student success, and play a pivotal role in this mission by offering personalized guidance, resources, and opportunities to empower students to achieve their professional aspirations.

We are dedicated to providing relevant education that empowers students to reach their full potential. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate Career Advisor to join our team.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
  • Background in Career Counselling, Education, Recruitment or related roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in Hospitality.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and creativity.
  • Desire for continuous learning.
  • Possess an excellent work ethic and passion for helping others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication with a student-focused and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of students and the academic community.
  • Basic proficiency in using CRM tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Career Counseling:
    • Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions to assist students in exploring career options, and setting goals.
    • Provide guidance on resume writing, cover letters, and job search strategies.
    • Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and values to align with potential career paths.

  • Employer Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with employers to create internship and job opportunities for students.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Placement International to organize career fairs, networking events, and employer panels to connect students with potential employers.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and job market demands to better advise students on relevant career paths.

  • Monitoring Progress:
    • Track and monitor student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions as necessary.
    • Conduct one-on-one conversatons with students to discuss any issues or concerns that may arise during the internship and provide them with the necessary support.
    • Utilize data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of career support programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaboration with other departments and partners schools:
    • Familiarize yourself with program specific policies, procedures and program requirements to provide accurate information to applicants.
    • Support students and host companies with the preparation and completion of the necessary documentation to validate their internship or job opportunities.
    • Work with partner schools and universities to ensure a smooth internship enrolment and overall experience to our shared programs.
    • Document any discoveries during external communication to inform the appropriate internal stakeholders.
    • Regularly review and update SOPs to incorporate any changes in admission policies, regulations or university requirements.
