Our involvement in the Campillo Wind Cluster project marks a significant milestone in the realm of collaborative contractual practices. Plenitude, part of Eni, has commissioned the 50 MW Villanueva II solar plant in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The Villanueva II solar project has been developed over a 100-hectare site and comprises over 76,000 solar PV modules. Plenitude’s new solar project is set to produce 100 GWh of clean electricity per annum, enough to meet the energy needs of more than 30,000 households. “Today, with the plant Villanueva II, we are taking a further step through our path for the energy transition, maintaining our commitment to Spain and Castilla-La Mancha Region thanks to a project representing an example of sustainable integration with companies and territory,” said Mariangiola Mollicone, Head of Western Europe Renewables and Managing Director of Plenitude Renewables Spain. “The development of the wind and photovoltaic sectors is key to Plenitude’s global growth strategy, which aims to reach more than 4 GW of installed capacity from renewable sources by the end of 2024, scaling up to over 8 GW by 2027 and over 15 GW by 2030.” Zaragoza Group and SOLIDA RENEWABLE ENERGIES supported Plenitude on the development and construction of Villanueva II. As a result of the latest solar project, Plenitude now owns around 430 MW of solar and wind energy plants in operation in Galicia, La Rioja, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, and Murcia. Furthermore, Plenitude has more than 1 GW of projects currently under construction in Andalusia (Seville and Granada), Castilla y León (Salamanca and Soria), and Extremadura (Badajoz). By 2027, Plenitude intends to deploy more than 8 GW of installed renewable capacity across Europe. #cleanenergy

⚡️🔋 If you follow us, you already know we spent part of this week at the Lisbon Energy Summit, presenting some of our projects in energy efficiency and discussing how all of us can make the energy transition a reality. Some of our takeaways from the event: 🌍📈 The chair of the event highlighted that “change is already happening and we should aim for progress over perfection.” Innovation has been fast and there’s a plethora of technologies in different maturity levels. However, existing innovation will only take us halfway to the climate goals. 🤝 The Portuguese Minister of Environment and Energy stated that “either the energy transition works for everyone, or it works for no one.” This means the involvement of everyone is essential. We need collaboration between academia, innovators, industry, investors, and consumers. 🇪🇺 The European Commission estimates that delivering the #European Green Deal objectives requires annual investments to increase by around EUR 520 billion between 2021 and 2030. Speakers discussed funding schemes, blended finance options and incentives. These takeaways are very aligned with #F6S mission and our values to boost innovation, foster collaboration and provide access to funding opportunities. #F6SInnovation will continue working hard to bring together the ecosystem, communicate innovation and support founders.

🌍 Press Release: Urgent Request for Fair Access to Contracts for Difference (CfD) Mechanism The renewable energy associations RPIA - Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association and RWEA - Romanian Wind Energy Association have issued a new press release urgently requesting that the authorities ensure fair access for the photovoltaic and wind industry to the Contracts for Difference (CfD) mechanism. 🔓 Representing producers, developers, service providers, and equipment suppliers in the renewable energy sector, with a total installed power of over 5.5 GW, the two associations are calling for immediate action. Recent statements about the intention to alter the fair allocation originally proposed for the first auction under the CfD mechanism (1 GW solar, 1 GW wind) based on erroneous assumptions—specifically, the existence of projects financed from both the PNRR and the Modernization Fund—only reinforce these incorrect assumptions and compromise one of our few chances as a country to meet our European commitments. Moreover, such a late change, shortly before the launch, jeopardizes the viability and success of the entire scheme. 🚫⚖️ The RES associations stress the critical need for authorities to maintain a fair and balanced allocation to guarantee the success of renewable energy initiatives and to achieve national and European energy targets.

☀️ #Agrivoltaic: what is it and what exactly does it consist of? 📌 In recent times we have often heard about agrivoltaics and for this reason we decided to clarify a little what it consists of and what advantages it brings. 👉 Agrivoltaics consists of the production of solar energy through photovoltaic panels placed on agricultural land. The panels are located in an elevated position on an undergrowth of plants. In this way it is possible to cultivate land and produce clean energy at the same time. Portugal 🇵🇹 offshore wind 💨🌊 upcoming auction: Up to 2GW, with target of 1GW to be built by 2030? According to Jornal Económico, on the sidelines of yesterday’s hearing in the Parliament, Environment and Energy Minister, Maria Da Graça Carvalho clarified that the Government is still waiting for a report with cost simulation scenarios, and admitted that the capacity in the upcoming offshore wind 💨🌊 auction may be lower than 2GW, pointing to a target of 1GW of offshore wind built by 2030. Minister Maria Da Graça Carvalho revealed also that the Government will hold a Council of Ministers dedicated to discuss the offshore wind auction framework at the beginning of September. The Minister also informed that the revised version of the National Energy and Climate Plan 2030 (NCEP/PNEC 2030) is nearing completion and that in this revision it was possible to raise the target for the share of renewables in gross final energy consumption to 51%, a figure that the European Commission had requested of Portugal. We are delighted to announce that the approval process for the grid connection (ATR) has been successfully completed for one of the largest renewable energy projects in Romania. This ambitious project is situated in the North-East part of the country and has a total capacity of over 1,117 MW, making a significant contribution to the country's renewable energy infrastructure. 4P Renewables is part of the 50/50 Romanian Joint Venture that is developing the project comprising of: ·        627 MW of Wind Energy: Harnessing the power of the wind, this segment will significantly contribute to our renewable energy mix, providing clean and sustainable electricity. ·        68 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): These advanced storage systems will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and reliability of the grid by storing excess energy generated during peak production times and releasing it when demand is high. ·        422.4 MW of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy: Utilizing the abundant solar resources, this component will add a substantial amount of clean energy to our grid, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions. Congratulations to Vinicius Branzani Leite for his presentation at the Poster Session of the 2nd Congress of the PPGEM EP USP. Title: Validation of a 15MW wind turbine using Amr-Wind coupled with OpenFAST Abstract: The development and enhancement of offshore wind energy generation are underway, as the wind conditions, coupled with the low roughness of the maritime environment, make it an excellent option for sustainable energy. However, its dynamic complexity is still under investigation by researchers worldwide. The performance of a wind turbine depends on a series of structural and hydrodynamic factors, such as aeroelasticity (blade deformation, fatigue, and flutter) and wave motions (in the case of floating wind turbines - FOWTs). These behaviors also influence the turbulent wake generated by a turbine, which can impact subsequent turbines in a wind farm. This project aims to study the influence of the turbulent wake of a 15 MW FOWT under conditions influenced by hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, and the respective dynamic responses of structures, using Amr-Wind CFD code for wind conditions calculation coupled with an aero-hydro-elastic module structure available in the open-source code OpenFAST. ACCIONA Energía announced today the repowering of the Tahivilla #windfarm in Tarifa (Cádiz), which will go from 98 #windturbines to 13 Nordex turbines. The repowering of the old turbines with new state-of-the-art ones will increase power from 78.4MW to 84.4MW, while the export capacity of the plant will remain the same.  https://lnkd.in/emBM_iXH #wind #windnergy #renewables
