100 Jahre Koelnmesse – Herzlichen Glückwunsch von JSWD! Ein internationaler Handelsplatz in Köln – das war der Traum des Kölner Oberbürgermeisters 1924. Sein Name: Konrad Adenauer. Heute ist die Koelnmesse GmbH im rechtsrheinischen Stadtteil Deutz eines der größten innerstädtischen Messeareale der Welt. Um zukunftsfähig zu werden, treibt die Koelnmesse Innovationen und Wachstum voran. Ein Meilenstein hierbei: Das von JSWD geplante Confex. Das Conference- und Exhibition-Center, eine multifunktionale Eventlocation für Messen, Kongresse und Firmenveranstaltungen wurde pünktlich zum runden Geburtstag fertiggestellt. Zusammen mit der ebenfalls von JSWD konzipierten neuen Halle 1 bildet das Confex den baulichen Abschluss des Messeareals zum westlich gelegenen Rheinpark hin. Bis 2030 werden weitere Um- und Neubaumaßnahmen folgen. Am 28. Juni wird aber erst einmal bei einem Festakt auf 100 Jahre Koelnmesse angestoßen. Nach Begrüßungsworten von NRW-Ministerpräsident Hendrik Wüst und Kölns Oberbürgermeisterin Henriette Reker wird es ein Panel zum Thema Messen, Märkte und Menschen geben. Die Teilnehmer: Der Vorsitzende der Geschäftsführung Koelnmesse, Gerald Böse, Geschäftsführer Oliver Frese, der Gründer des rheingold-Instituts, Stephan Grünewald und unser Founder Jürgen Steffens. . JSWD Congratulates Koelnmesse on its 100-Year Anniversary! Back in 1924, the Mayor of Cologne dreamed of creating an international trading center in Cologne. His name? Konrad Adenauer. Located in the Deutz district on the right bank of the Rhine, Koelnmesse is now one of the world’s largest inner-city trade fair venues. To remain future-proof, Koelnmesse is pursuing a strategy innovation and growth. One milestone in this strategy: Confex, planned by JSWD. Confex – the name stands for conference and exhibition center – is a multifunctional location for trade fairs, congresses, and corporate events that was completed just in time for Koelnmesse’s 100th birthday. Together with the new Hall 1, which was also designed by JSWD, Confex is the final building of the trade fair grounds towards the Rheinpark to the west. Additional conversion and new construction projects will be implemented between now and 2030. But first, on June 28, 2024, we will celebrate Koelnmesse’s 100-year anniversary at an official ceremony. After opening remarks by NRW Minister-President Hendrik Wüst and Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker, there will be a panel on the topic of trade fairs, markets, and people.
