Due to the nature of being a student I take frequent, unpredictable wikibreaks.

I greatly enjoy this project, and the democratization of knowledge is an important goal. However, my life obliges me to take significant pauses to focus on more acute matters, and at times, the intense bureaucracy of this place can be quite overwhelming. If you need to contact me, drop me a message on my talk page even if I haven't been active in a while. It will get to my inbox one way or another.

Here are two questions that guide my work on this project:

What role does language play in limiting our knowledge or efficacy in communication, both in general and on Wikipedia?
What systemic barriers does language create, and how can we help to reduce their harm?

In general, if you reach out to me, I will respond in the language that your correspondence is written in, so if you have a preference from the languages other than English of which I have some knowledge of, please feel free to use it.

Things I'm working on

I am mainly working within the confines of copy-editing, anti-vandalism, and other sorts of minor edits. I do not currently have enough time to work on drafting new articles, and the bureaucracy of Wikipedia is more difficult to deal with when you are creating content from the ground up. I would rather spend my time making edits to articles folks are already reading rather than argue about what is worthy of a new article and what is not. Additionally, I am more inclined to work on entirely new articles on the Wikipedias of other languages for several reasons, the most important two of which being that these sources have less articles, and that the moderation of these Wikipedias is carried out remarkably better than here at English Wikipedia.

A Modest Proposal

A trivial task that would probably do better at moderating Wikipedia than the current bureaucracy would be to train a machine learning model on policies that all articles and edits must abide by. Some policies of focus would be those centered around living persons and basic requirements for notability. Given the enormous amount of data that is generated just from a week's worth of editing, this would be an easy task, yet probably yielding very useful results. If anyone else has interest in this idea, please leave a message on my talk page.
