The National Association of Training Corps for Girls was formed in 1940 and was the umbrella organisation for the Girls Training Corps (GTC), Girls' Nautical Training Corps (GNTC) and Women's Junior Air Corps (WJAC).[1]

In 1963 the GNTC left to be sponsored by the Navy League and has subsequently become part of the Sea Cadet Organisation. In 1964 The GTC and WJAC amalgamated to become the Girls Venture Corps.
