Image stabilization is a family of optical techniques to produce a stable image from non-stable optics. It is used in image-stabilized binoculars, photography, and astronomy.

In photography, it can be acheived by moving an element of the lens or the sensor to compensate for motion. With digital photography, it is possible to computationally correct for camera shake.
