    ETMutualFunds data reveals six large-cap mutual funds turned Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1 crore over 20 years. Notably, 11 funds have completed two decades. HDFC Top 100 Fund achieved Rs 1.51 crore, growing at 18.58% CAGR from Rs 5 lakh.

    According to data analyzed by ETMutualFunds, approximately six large-cap mutual funds have transformed a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1 crore over the last 20 years. It's noteworthy that around 11 large-cap funds have completed 20 years of existence in the market.

    HDFC Top 100 Fund
    The HDFC Top 100 Fund (formerly known as HDFC Top 200 Fund) has turned a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.51 crore over the past 20 years, achieving a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.58% during this period.

    The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 100 - TRI. The scheme is managed by Rahul Baijal. Launched in September 1996, the scheme manages assets of Rs 33,488 crore as of May 2024.



    Aditya Birla SL Frontline Equity Fund
    Aditya Birla SL Frontline Equity Fund has transformed a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.45 crore over the last 20 years, achieving a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.36% during this period.

    The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 100 - TRI and is managed by Mahesh Patil. Launched in August 2002, the scheme currently manages assets worth Rs 27,274 crore as of May 31, 2024.

    Kotak Bluechip Fund
    Kotak Bluechip Fund (Earlier known as Kotak 50) turned the lumpsum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.21 crore in the last 20 years. The scheme offered a CAGR of 17.28% in a similar time horizon.

    The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 100 - TRI and is managed by Rohit Tandon. Launched in February 2003, the scheme currently manages assets worth Rs 8,199 crore.

    Tata Large Cap Fund
    Tata Large Cap Fund (formerly known as Tata Pure Equity Fund) has turned a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.20 crore over the specified time period. The scheme achieved a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.23% during this period.

    The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 100 - TRI and is managed by Abhinav Sharma. Launched in May 1998, the scheme manages assets of Rs 2,161 crore as of May 2024.

    DSP Top 100 Equity Fund
    DSP Top 100 Equity Fund has transformed a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.10 crore over the last 20 years, achieving a CAGR of 16.74% during this period.

    The scheme is benchmarked against BSE 100 - TRI and is managed by Abhishek Singh and Jay Kothari. Launched in March 2003, the scheme manages assets of Rs 3,716 crore as of May 2024.

    Franklin India Bluechip Fund
    Franklin India Bluechip Fund turned the lumpsum investment of Rs 5 lakh into Rs 1.01 crore with a CAGR of 16.26% over the last 20 years.

    The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 100 - TRI and is managed by Venkatesh Sanjeevi, Ajay Argal, and Sandeep Manam. Launched in December 1993, the scheme manages assets of Rs 7,646 crore as of May 2024.

    The other large-cap funds turned a lump sum investment of Rs 5 lakh into amounts ranging from Rs 61.08 lakh to Rs 89.85 lakh over 20 years. These schemes delivered CAGR ranging between 13.32% and 15.53%.

    We evaluated all large-cap funds available during this period, including regular and growth options, assessing performance from July 7, 2004, to July 6, 2024.
