$\begingroup$ Thanks for the answer. One concern I have is that the DJI goggles are expensive. All I want is being able to view it on a laptop. Is there a way to do that without first going through the goggles? $\endgroup$– kevinlinxcCommented Jun 13, 2022 at 17:23

$\begingroup$ You can't really fly by viewing the picture on a laptop (or phone). All the digital processing causes too much lag - and most screens aren't bright enough to see outdoors in sunlight anyway. Yes, DJI goggles are expensive, but they aren't much more than high-end analogue goggles. Compressing HD video into the available bandwidth without adding lag is hard, and the market isn't big enough to justify a lot of development. $\endgroup$– Robin BennettCommented Jun 14, 2022 at 18:45

$\begingroup$ Hi, perhaps I should have clarified this - I'm not flying by viewing the picture on a laptop, this is part of a data acquisition system and the video is not used for flying $\endgroup$– kevinlinxcCommented Jun 14, 2022 at 19:56

$\begingroup$ Could you just record the video on an action camera like a GoPro? Otherwise there's not really an off-the-shelf solution in the hobby world. Most photography drones (e.g. the DJI Mavic) have something like this but it's all proprietary. $\endgroup$– Robin BennettCommented Jun 15, 2022 at 8:13

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. flight-controller), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
