Wood protection inspired by the Nordics: “Njord” booms in Poland Unicell International sp. z o.o. has launched a Nordic-inspired wood protection product, Njord, in Poland. With campaign images like this one 🎨 "Poland is a key growth market, and this campaign has exceeded expectations, significantly boosting our presence," says Sune Schnack, CEO of Flügger Group, and continues: “Poland remains a high-potential market for us, with demand driving our products from 175 to 429 stores. This expansion showcases the strong association of Nordic quality and design in Poland.” These efforts benefit the entire Flügger Group, providing valuable insights for future international growth. Unicell International: Back in 2019, Flügger acquired 60% of the shares in the family-owned paint manufacturer Unicell International, headquartered in Wasilków, Poland. The intention was to invest in the Polish market and in a manufacturer capable of launching its own brands and private label products for DIY stores, retailers, and other distributors.

120 years at Flügger!   The three gentlemen in this picture have worked at Flügger for 120 years in total!   Frank Jæger had his first day at Flügger on 1. June 1981. Allan Madsen 1. June 1984 and Jørn Hansen on 1. June 1987! All three work at our Kolding factory where our Flügger paint is made. They contribute with their great experience and knowledge. Annual Report: 2023/24 was a year with gradual normalisation, divestment and new strategy In 2023/24, we navigated through high costs for raw materials, energy, and transportation. Thus, we achieved a turnover of DKK 2,208 million, reflecting a 4% growth from the previous year. Our EBIT ended at DKK 68 million. Key highlights of the year include the sale of Eskaro Group AB. How do you choose the right colours for your home? According to our Head of Design, Fie Hetting, the right results require preparation and an eye for what works in the long term. “When you choose a colour, you make a long-term choice. So, it’s a good idea to ensure that the colour you choose is calming.” “Typically, we see the colours on a small scale when choosing them, but when we paint, they cover the whole wall and then the undertones get enhanced. A gray with a purple undertone may seem more purple when it covers the whole wall.” Also, you need to be aware of the room’s function, but also the size and light in the room. Quality has no age. And yet. After 61 years of dedicated service for Flügger’s customers, our old Simms brush machine is finally retiring! 🌈 The Canadian made brush head machine was a new addition to the factory in Bankeryd in 1963. Until then, all brush heads were made by hand with a capacity of around 50-100 brushes per hour. Modern Simms revolutionized the entire industry with its increased capacity of 800-1500 brushes per hour. Patrik Larsson, the maintenance and technical supervisor at the brush factory in Bankeryd, worked with Simms for many years. "I started at Flügger in early 1991. This machine was my first job as an operator. It took me at least six months to learn its intricacies and behavior. Trust me, it had a life of its own," he says. Today, Simms has been replaced by a new brush head machine, installed in December 2023. "After the initial run-in period, we now feel confident in letting it take over. Finally!"
