Jenn Tran is making history as the first Asian Bachelorette, the first physician assistant student to lead a season, and the first contestant to head abroad straight after meet-and-greets — so it makes total sense that she’d film Night 1 at a brand new Bachelor Mansion, too.

That’s right, folks. Longtime members of Bachelor Nation may be shocked to see that franchise host Jesse Palmer hosed down a brand new driveway for Jenn Tran’s Season 21 premiere on Monday, July 8.

In a break of tradition, Tran won’t be meeting her 25 guys at the same property she met Bachelor Season 28 lead Joey Graziadei. Instead, the franchise is switching it up a bit with a new Night 1 filming location, which Tran thinks makes perfect sense. In an interview with ET, the Season 21 lead said, “I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold… I’m gonna bless it with some really good vibes.”

So where was Night 1 of The Bachelorette Season 21 filmed? What happened to the old Bachelor Mansion? And what’s there to know about Hummingbird Nest Ranch? We’ve got all the details on The Bachelorette‘s new Season 21 digs below.

What Happened To The Old Bachelor Mansion?

The beloved Agoura Hills property that Bachelor Nation knows as “The Bachelor Mansion” is Villa de la Vina. Though it still exists, the mansion currently has no 2024 availability on AirBnb, so it’s likely the show was unable to book it for Jenn Tran’s speedy season, which was announced to the public and started filming in March 2024. As for whether the franchise will resume filming at it’s go-to location in the future (or film The Golden Bachelorette‘s debut season there), we’ll have to wait and see. Until then, let’s hear more about The Bachelorette Season 21’s California filming location.

Where Was The Bachelorette Season 21 Filmed?

As noted above, The Bachelorette Season 21 was filmed at another massive California property/event space called Hummingbird Nest Ranch.

Everything To Know About The Hummingbird Nest Ranch:

Hummingbird Nest Ranch is located in Santa Susana, a town in Simi Valley, California. Per the website, the villa with Santa Susana mountain views is 17,000 square feet, which means it’s slightly larger than Villa de la Vina, which promises 10,000 square feet of indoor space and 20,000 square feet of outdoor space. Other perks of the property include “Spanish Colonial architecture with aesthetic courtyards, water fountains, arched entryways, curved columns, tiled staircases, and prodigious use of ironwork, which add grace and drama to the crisp white façade bathed in bougainvillea.”

In addition to being a hot spot for lavish weddings and events (even celebrities like Kaley Cuoco and Corbin Bleu got married there), Hummingbird Nest offers a variety of filming packages and claims to be “one of the top film locations in Southern California.” So what, aside from The Bachelorette Season 21, has filmed there? Glad you asked!

What Other TV Shows And Movies Have Filmed At The Hummingbird Nest Ranch?

Earlier this year, Decider did a deep dive into TV shows and movies that filmed at Hummingbird Nest Ranch after realizing that several episodes of 9-1-1 filmed there. IMDb and a blog from 2019 report films like Savages (2012), Jobs (2013), and Book Club (2018), along with TV shows like Knots LandingThe Biggest LoserThe MentalistNCISL.A’s Finest, 90210, Vanderpump RulesEntourage, and True Detective filmed at the property over the years. Claim to Fame fans will also recognize Hummingbird Nest Ranch!

The list of projects that filmed on the property goes on and on, but never forget that 9-1-1 shares a special connection to the Bachelor franchise since its 100th episode crossover emergency led the 118 to the Bachelor Mansion to save Joey Graziadei and Jesse Palmer. The Bachelor franchise can run, but apparently it can’t hide from Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) and company.
