What We Do

BNYM Alternative Operations - Real Estate provides administration services to a portfolio of real estate funds for several asset managers in Germany.

Within that organization, the SPV Operations Team is responsible for the coordination, management and valuation of a significant number of legal entities worldwide, that are used to hold real estate properties and thus plays an integral part in our comprehensive service offering.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Directing a team that is responsible for providing administration services to a major real estate client.
  • Designing and improving processes for ensuring that timely reporting and valuation of the entities is provided to the client on time and in high quality.
  • Managing relationships with client representatives and other stakeholders.
  • Communicating with clients on complex issues.
  • Evaluating German investment law and regulations to determine impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon Operations’ practices.
  • Training of junior team members, guiding them in solving complex issues. Covering for the Head of SPV Operations during absences and on other occasions.
  • Seeking opportunities for Improving processes and service delivery.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 6 years+ experience in real estate funds operations or audit background, team management experience would be an advantage.
  • Track record of operational excellence
  • Excellent knowledge of real estate accounting and legal entity requirements
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate professionally and lead discussions with important clients.
  • Highly proactive team player, who is willing to work across silos and to consider downstream impacts of their tasks.
  • Good command of German language, sufficient to articulate complex topics.
  • Ability to drive change and complex operational process enhancements.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Project management experience an advantage.
  • Experience with Yardi accounting platforms an advantage.
