Your Job
What This Role Looks Like.
Defining and enhancing our visual language within our ALDI Design System
Crafting and optimizing reusable UI components, encompassing icons, typography, color palettes, form language and layout grids for seamless integration into our Design System
Sharing knowledge to empower product teams in swiftly delivering innovative solutions at scale
Forging close collaborations with UX designers to ensure uniformity in visual elements and guidelines across all digital products, preserving a cohesive brand identity
Engaging closely with UX designers, user researchers, product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the design system in all digital products
Offering decisive design insights and leadership to our global design community
Expanding and upholding our Design Tokens to maintain consistency across various products and platforms
Proactively soliciting user feedback to enhance our Design System
Your Profile
What You Bring With You.
An ardent enthusiasm for visual design, particularly in the digital realm – What drives your passion for this field?
Proficiency in thriving within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, coupled with a proactive, collaborative and inquisitive hands-on approach
Possessing an exceptional eye for detail where every pixel is significant, yet you maintain perspective and do not get lost in it
Holding a degree with a specialization in visual design, demonstrating a solid grasp of the fundamentals
Accumulating 3+ years of experience in a digital design or brand agency or within a design-focused company or department
Presenting a robust portfolio featuring recent, well-organized, visually captivating, and representative work samples
Ability to comprehend, articulate, and convey the significance of a Design System and why it's essential for ALDI (we may indeed ask you about this!)
Showcasing practical experience with Design Systems, including component-based design and the establishment of scalable and user-friendly structures
Demonstrating a sound comprehension of the digital software development process and experience in defining a design system's overarching vision
Rating your Figma skills no lower than a 6 on a scale from 0 to 10 (Have you worked with variables? What is the difference between between main and base components? Can you Explain the distinction between versioning and branching?)
Proficiency in the English language at an advanced level
Desirable extras.
Demonstrating proficiency in Figma and Jira, along with an excellent grasp of their respective capabilities
Utilizing problem-solving skills as an integral part of driving projects forward (you'll rely on them daily)
Embracing responsibility for tasks and welcoming feedback as a means to constantly enhance results
Exhibiting robust communication skills, with the capacity to express ideas effectively and foster collaboration among team members
Holding a solid grasp of design principles while maintaining a keen affinity for technology
Accumulating experience with UI design libraries and design system platforms like Storybook, Fracture, ZeroHeight and Supernova
