Our Digital R&D (DRD) team is responsible for innovative computer-aided solutions for chemical product and application development at Covestro. DRD integrates expertise in materials simulation and computational chemistry as well as competencies in laboratory automation, R&D data science, quantum computing and high performance computing (HPC).

With passion and deep technical expertise, we develop software to map complex R&D processes and connect modern laboratory infrastructure.

Your Mission

• Architecture visionary: Together with our software architects, you don't just shape specifications, you breathe life into them. You focus on creativity and innovation, especially in the area of front-end technologies.
• Bard of code development: Your code is not just functional, but a true symphony. You are part of a process that goes far beyond writing code - from maintaining a shared code repository to release management and (automated) testing.
• UI architect: You are not just a developer, but a real thought leader in the conception of front ends. In close coordination with the business and IT, you transform abstract requirements into visual masterpieces for our users.
• Technical artist: You're not just a technician, you're an artist. Whether you write requirements documents, source code or documentation - you don't just design, you inspire.
• Development wizard: Technical architecture specifications and design documents are not just guidelines for you, but the basis for creating breathtaking front ends.
• End-user wizard: You don't just interact with end users, you understand their needs on a deeper level. From requirements gathering to product reviews and magical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge alchemist: Your knowledge is worth its weight in gold, and you love to share it with your teammates. You're not just a developer, you're a mentor who inspires the team to excel.

Your Profile

• Personality that counts: We're not just looking for subject matter experts, but for personalities who are just as curious, courageous and diverse as we are. Are you ready to initiate change and realize the full circular economy together with us?
• Innovative education: Not only do you have a university degree or completed training in mathematics, computer science, software engineering or a comparable field, but you also bring a breath of fresh air with your way of thinking.
• Industry knowledge: Your several years of industry experience in technical roles with complex software development projects is impressive. You know the dynamics and challenges involved and are familiar with professional development processes such as Agile methods, CI/CD and DevOps.
• Technical virtuosity: HTML, CSS and TypeScript are not foreign words to you, but your creative tool. You understand the Document Object Model (DOM) down to the smallest detail and apply this knowledge skillfully in development.
• Web development excellence: Your skills in the development of web applications with Angular as a front-end framework are outstanding. You always keep an eye on compatibility and performance and know how to deal with the intricacies of different web browsers.
• Linguistic brilliance: It's not just your code that speaks volumes, but also your language skills. Your profile is rounded off by fluency in English (German would be an advantage).
