Science/Political Writer - Biotechnology

Mantell Associates are currently partnered with a rapidly growing Biotechnology organisation in their search for a Science/Political Writer.

Science/Political Writer - Responsibilities:

• Work directly with the CEO/Chief Scientist to generate content suitable for publication
• Communicate the CEO's brand to a broad audience, including promoting new ideas outside of traditional services
• Being an excellent sounding board and assisting in brainstorming sessions to further develop ideas into actionable projects
• Attend meetings and take part in conference calls regularly
• Areas of writing include both politics and life sciences
• Producing articles for publication in print and online
• Write articles, blogs, and essays
• Maintain editorial calendar and publish content in a timely manner
• Express scientific and political concepts into accessible and engaging content for targeted audiences
• Demonstrate exceptional written, analytical, and verbal communication skills, with extensive knowledge of English grammar

Science/Political Writer - Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in the field of biology, political science, and/or journalism
• A scientific degree is not required though there needs to be the aptitude to learn basic scientific concepts overtime
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a science or political writer, preferably in life sciences and/or politics
• Drive and passion for life sciences and politics
• Exceptional writing and communication skills
• Familiarity with what makes articles compelling to an online audience
• Ability to travel several times annually
