Purpose of the Role

The Regional Director is a crucial leadership position responsible for ensuring the commercial success of the company within a designated country or region. This role is vital for driving the growth and profitability of the organization, ensuring alignment across all departments and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy: Partner with the Chief Sales Officer and other stakeholders to develop and execute the commercial strategy. Provide local insights, market intelligence, and recommendations to tailor the strategy to the assigned country, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
  • Sales and Business Development: Lead sales and business development efforts in the assigned region, working closely with the sales team to identify and pursue opportunities. Maintain a robust sales pipeline, negotiate contracts, and close deals to meet revenue targets.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) Responsibility: Oversee the financial performance of the region, including revenue generation, cost management, and profitability targets. Strive to achieve financial objectives with a focus on sustainable growth.
  • Market Growth: Identify and evaluate growth opportunities within the region. Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive assessments to inform decision-making and support market entry strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Provide clear direction, set ambitious goals, and mentor team members for individual and collective success.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, potential partners, and customers. Represent the company at industry events to promote brand awareness and strategic collaborations.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness in the region, overseeing activities related to project management and customer support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges, optimize processes, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Proven success in a senior leadership role, preferably within the EV charging industry or a related sector.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in P&L management, strategic planning, and budgeting.
  • Extensive knowledge of local market dynamics, including regulations, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, talent development, and performance management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for sustainable mobility and clean energy.
  • Agile and adaptable to consistent changes.
  • Fluency in the local language and English; additional relevant languages are a plus.
