Farmina Pet Foods is a family-owned Italian company with over 65 years of experience. We are a leading company in the pet food market, with four production facilities and sales in over 70 countries. We are a Pet Care company that not only provides food but also tailor-made nutrition consultancy and a pet care coaching program to all our final customers to support the wellness of their four leg family members.


We seek an experienced, self-motivated, and project-oriented Marketing and Commercial Manager to drive and be responsible for the business development of the Farmina brands in Germany and Austria, bringing synergy in marketing and commercial operations, through the implementation of the Farmina marketing strategy. The Marketing and Commercial Manager will report directly to the Farmina European headquarters.

The ideal candidate should have experience in consumer & trade marketing, and commercial operations, preferably in the Pet food industry or Pet Medicine/Pharmaceuticals/health industries, and be able to think strategically and execute flawlessly.

He/ She will work on building a marketing team from scratch, improving the sales structure capacity, and bringing synergy in executing the business activities to hit commercial, financial, and marketing targets agreed upon with the company HQ. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for planning and developing marketing strategies, together with Headquarters, to increase brand awareness and brand equity in the countries of responsibility.


Core Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Developing synergy in the execution of the operational activities of the marketing and sales team.
  • Leading the distribution building process and new product launches in the countries of responsibility.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the marketing activities' impact on sales development.
  • Overseeing and coordinating (cross-functional teams working), for the implementation and execution of marketing activities and sales development across all channels: Veterinarians, Breeders, Pet shops, and Digital/Ecommerce.
  • Supporting the sales team with marketing/sales actions in their operational activities.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and communicating changes in the pet food category, and customer/channel dynamics, and recommending actions to address issues and opportunities.
  • Sales and marketing budget building and spending monitoring per market.
  • Sales and marketing activities plan building and monitoring per market.
  • Sales and marketing activities performance monitoring and analyzing of achieved results per market.
  • Implementation and participation in the improvement of the company's marketing strategy (bringing new ideas according to HQ marketing strategy).
  • Analyzing brand/activities, evaluation analysis on an ongoing basis, and recommending corrective actions if needed.
  • Overseeing brand standards implementation in the areas of product communication, price positioning, and recommending corrective actions when needed.
  • Keeping good relations with business partners.
  • Taking care of the proper localization of marketing and communication materials.
  • Coordinating brand presence in important B2B and B2C events.

Job Requirements:


  • University degree in Economics/Business studies/Marketing/ Communication
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management and a strong business acumen
