MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

The position

The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee optimization initiatives, implement efficient work methods, and drive EHS and Quality improvements. You will manage technology transfers both as a sender and receiver. Reporting to the Production and Supply Chain Manager, you will represent Manufacturing in product and process development to ensure ease of production. You will also collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing, and assembly subcontractors to ensure adherence to AEG PS standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead Industrialization efforts to integrate Design for Manufacturing principles across our product portfolio, following the guidance of our Global Industrialization Leader.
  • Craft efficient plant layouts, streamline material flow, and establish standardized manufacturing processes for our product range, fostering tool harmonization.
  • Develop clear standard operating procedures, work instructions, and key performance indicators (KPIs) while benchmarking against industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough efficiency and productivity assessments to optimize standard work procedures.
  • Uphold rigorous Quality and EHS standards throughout our operations.
  • Enhance information flow and product traceability for a more streamlined process.
  • Play an integral role in new product development, ensuring the seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate closely with assembly subcontractors to implement standardized practices, enhance their efficiency, and reduce AEG PS costs.
  • Define material flows and establish smooth interfaces between subcontractors and AEG PS facilities.
  • Work in tandem with Sourcing and producers on make-or-buy decisions, ensuring that new product developments meet quality standards and adhere to schedules.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the power electronics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control methods, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards relevant to the power electronics industry is advantageous.
