Linux Systems Engineer

Daily Tasks

• Strategize and carry out seamless rollouts for software and settings updates.
• Engage in diverse and dynamic projects aimed at launching and enhancing new server models, products, and features.
• Collaborate on conceptualizing and deploying infrastructure visions, strategies, and plans.
• Oversee the setup of new servers in partnership with data center personnel.
• Support the upkeep of both our physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Supervise, manage, and resolve issues related to our services.
• Improve operational tools, focusing on automation, monitoring, alerts, and reporting systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in managing Linux servers, with a preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
• Skilled in deploying software and configurations without downtime in live customer settings.
• Proficient with tools like SaltStack or Ansible, and monitoring systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong grasp of virtualization and server networking.
• Advanced experience with Bash scripting; familiarity with Python is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of Git, including handling merge conflicts, feature branches, merge requests, and continuous integration (CI/CD).
• Fluent in English with intermediate proficiency in German (B2).
