Leitender Underwriter

Freiberuflicher Leitender Underwriter (m/d/x) - Colgone, Germany - Köln, Deutschland

We are currently working with Multinational Insurance Company, who are in need of a Freelance Underwriter to support them on an initial 7-month contract. Their office is located in Cologne, Germany and the position requires an onsite presence.

The senior underwriter will independently support the acquisition of new business and the renewal of existing business in close cooperation with the sales department by analysing the product, the conditions, the claims experience and the associated risks and thus determining the risk-adequate price.

About the role:

• Senior Underwriter
• 7-month initial contract
• German and English speaking
• Hybrid working in Cologne, Germany
• Start date: July 8th 2024
• Experience working in the Insurance / Financial field

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of technical quotations (taking into account the group underwriting policy and sales strategy)
• Attending customer appointments in interaction with sales to support negotiations
• Preparation of decision-making bases from the analysis of customer and claims controlling for management and sales
• Initiation, implementation and control of loss prevention, remediation and selection measures
• Recalculation of contracts to support extension or restructuring negotiations
• Drafting and revision of service descriptions and cooperation agreements

Skills:

• Degree in economics or law or comparable studies with a relevant focus
• High affinity for numbers; dealing with figures, evaluations and the corresponding programs is routine
• Good PC skills with MS Office products, especially Excel
