Legal Counsel

Our client, a highly regarded European Solar Developer, are seeking a German Qualified Legal Counsel who will primarily support their German business with the development and construction of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Pro-actively and autonomously provide legal support in solar project development specifically and corporate business in general
• Be the go-to person for all solar PV project legal related matters in Germany
• Manage legal processes for their solar PV projects in Germany
• Provide high standards best practice legal support in the project construction process, supporting with drafting, negotiating and finalizing key project agreements such as EPC contracts and O&M contracts.
• Involvement in other stages of the project lifecycle, including incorporation of SPVs, land agreements, PPAs and project financing.
• Track changes to legislation and their impact on our development pipeline/future focus
• Instructing and managing external lawyers

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience as a construction lawyer, preferably in renewable energy
• German qualified lawyer preferred, but will consider lawyers qualified in other jurisdictions.
• High level understanding and interest in the different aspects of the project, including development, technical, offtake, O&M and project finance.
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills
• Spoken and written fluency in German and English
• Willingness to travel occasionally within (or to) London and abroad.
